I've driven a LHD integrale since '98 and never had any issues, but recently took my Elise to Romania, its RHD, the blind spots on UK roads were appauling, its not nice now, at all. Especially when you have a passenger who likes to look at junctions and totally blocks off the already bad visability
Yeah, of course. What I said was a generalisation. It always helps if the LHD that you're driving is a great car! And Integrale fans like yourself have no choice. (I think that there are a VERY small number of factory RHD Inters???). Anyway, I was driving a bloody Day Van! lmao! And a few other things of little interest. The extra effort just isn't worth it IMHO.

Do a lot of driving in Spain myself. But always in a LHD for the same reason. Never drive there.

And that's a real irritation of mine too! Even in a RHD HERE! The passenger wants to have a good long look, blocking your vision on a tight angle, then says, "OK here." As if you're ever just going to accept that!! furious Can only imagine how much 'fun' it is in a RHD Elise, on the 'wrong' side of the road! shoothehe

Being a grumpy old ****, I'm normally quite decisive and set in my ways, but I just can't make my mind up about this.
I wouldn't buy it, either when it was new, (£45,000 - WTF???), or now, (anyone who'd have a LHD here, obviously hasn't driven one here, at least through a town centre!)

But I just don't know about the concept; what it is etc.

Is it a low rent 911 sort of thing? A bit 'off the wall'?
Or is it a daft, retro, 'mumsy', 'school run' embarrassment, that should never have an 'R' badge anywhere near it?

Just do not know?????? confused
It's whatever you want it to be.

Did the standard beetle come with the 1.8 turbo VAG engine that the TT got (225bhp)?

That would be quite good fun to play with; I expect there are some decent suspension and brake upgrades available and that particular engine is good for 275bhp with a remap.

That could be an interesting car to modify at little cost.

you're welcome

The new price was ridiculous but second hand they have held their value very well, so therefore are worth the money.
As for driving left have drive in towns, it's very easy, it's confusing why anyone would find it difficult
Ahhh well, each to their own, and I bow to your obvious superior ability 'behind the wheel' as it were.

Although you must remember that those LHD cars on the Xbox/Playstation don't count, and I'm not sure a left hand drive BMX exists!

Nevertheless, a fine point well made.

If that's the best you can do, I'd give up on the patronising if I were you poppet, you're not very good at it.
