Why oh why have BMW gone all pre-chav with the black grills. Dear oh dear. White paint equally as bad, what happened to painting cars proper colours.
The black kidney grille was an option on the e30 M3. And c'mon...Chav is a way of life, not an M-Performance part. Can you please post a pic of your car so that I can typecast you?White is actually lighter due to far less pigmentation. Hence Mitsubishi RS models painted in white.

I always find its people above a certain age that hate white cars, probably due to the fact that they would look stupid in them!
Out of interest, what age do you think that is? I'm 33 and I think white is absolutely the worst colour available for any car; but I thought the same when I was 21 and bought my first car... which was white - I always hated the colour of it. My order of foulness of car colours has always been the same, going: White, silver, grey, black,...

Some cars are best in silver and some in yellow..... Just my 2p.
Boxster Spyders, Z4M Coupe, E46 M3, Focus RS, etc seem to suit white quite well for example although it's subjective.

That's a very blanket statement... Usually the type and shape of car determines if a colour suits it.

I agree that different cars look good in different colours, but to me everything looks awful in white, silver or grey. Some of my favourite looking cars (like the 300SL) are almost always seen in silver and I still think it's an absolutely foul colour. Obviously a deeply personal thing, but to me the "monochrome" colours are just utterly horrible. Some cars are best in silver and some in yellow..... Just my 2p.

I'd take a bright pink car with flowers painted on it over a white or silver one.

"A power kit for the 220d adds another 16hp to give you 200hp in total"
Go on, I'll be the first to say it, a bit of a pathetic increase in power for your (no doubt substantial sum of) money, but I guess the suits will say its because BMW have to conply with allsorts of regs, whereas an aftermarket tuner can lob a 30bhp grenade at it with impunity?
For one, the work is manufacturer warranty approved, if it's like the power kit for the previous generation 120d, they take into account to more power from a given turbocharged engine creates more heat, so the conversion included an uprated radiator and automatics gained either an uprated or additional gearbox oil coiler, whereas an aftermarket remap tends to just address the software, rather than take increased workloads/potential reduced longevity on ancillary hardware into account.
