Lucky lucky B*****d!!!

Enjoyed every minute of that. Must have been so intense driving a DTM!

I think Harris is very average though and should be given the boot. Please pick me Mr Pistonheads Drive Network hehe!

Why are the pedal loads so high? I can't see any reason they need to be?

I'm in a minority here, but I like the DTM - but acknowledge the racing isn't always great. Love the cars though - and as already said, they're probably too good.

1.5 seconds off the pace after 8 laps is a superb effort.

Stepping into one of those is another level of performance and the unfamiliarity with the surroundings alone would make it difficult for most to adjust so quickly.

Nice work.

I would have thought that being within 1.5 seconds of the DTM champ after only 13 laps in the car was pretty good! Chris made it sound like it wasn't very good, I wonder how long the whole lap was?

Surely that is actually an M4 with the new BMW naming?

2) Notice you were right foot braking, surely there's 0.5sec a lap alone in moving to left foot braking, even in this N/A engined car!
Or 1 second per lap lost if you're Priaulx. Not everyone adapts well to LBF especially if they only start later in life.

I love DTM cars but agree the series is a bit 'dry'
Perhaps a less aggressive aero package would make for more exciting racing. But it is the aero packages that make the machines look so damn awesome! Argh.

So everyone who sees it thinks "what do i need to sell to drive an M3 to work each day" !! wink
Photocopiers? "Marketing and Distribution Solutions"?
Yes, although you have to "deliver" the solutions, rather than sell them.

Given Priaulx started in single seaters I'd be very surprised if he wasn't left foot braking since the start of his career.

He wasn't, because when he was driving single seaters they had 3 pedals.

Fantastic video, what an experience of a lifetime.

My wife got the privilege to passenger an ex DTM E30 M3 with a BMW works driver at the wheel and she said it was just total old school motorsport with the sounds and smell of race fuel, can only imaging the senses at high alert and the adrenalin flowing at the helm of a current DTM racer.

Great vid....

What a wonderful machine. Can't say I've had a chance to watch DTM for quite a few years.

Great stuff Chris. Feel free to cover as many DTM cars as you wish! It would be interesting to compare older examples with what we have just seen, so we can appreciate the development over the years.
