The S3 Cab will be along towards the end of next year. Quattro will appear before summer. I've seen it in the flesh and it's a great looking car. They're also going to be putting the 1.2 TFSI engine in the car in 2016 which is, in my opinion, fking pointless but it will appeal to the budget conscious who aren't bothered about it moving anywhere!

Ugly? Down to personal tastes, Really slow? 150mph and sub 8 seconds to 60 are hardly 'really slow', and expensive? Similar cost to rivals.

The point of this car is is to make sure that firstly, Audi make money (same as every car) and secondly it provides the car buyer with a choice that is more desireable than an equivelant manufacture, which on paper it does!

It'd look alright if it wasn't for the stupidly large alloys. Get some 16s on there, you silly buggers.
I disagree. If the wheels were 16s they'd be swallowed up by the bodywork at the back, at it stands I think they look entirely in proportion.

Please name me a car in this class which isn't a "hairdresser's car" in your opinion. I think this looks quite handsome tbh.

This will go down a storm in Bromley.

Bland - check
Audi - check
Pov spec TDI/FSI - check
No understanding of how someone else might want to slow down for a speed bump or you know, turn into their driveway - check
No Bluetooth specced so driver has to hold his/her phone to ear while driving - check

I'm not finished with you yet, generic Audi driver.

And thus we see in subject A, another textbook demonstration of the mindset that simply must have that new Audi, much the same as he must have a new Louis Vuitton manbag or some other such trinket that says to the other fellows in his department and his friends and acquaintances, "look everyone, notice that I'm doing rather well for myself and I downright crave recognition for it. Do tell me that you're all ever so envious."

Yes mate okay mate do you even mate, mate? I don't fully understand. I am neither of those people. Ah, I see, they are the vicarious avatars of your boyish fantasies so of course i'd also dream of living up to this.

Delusional belief that everybody that questions your taste or doesn't have something as expensive as you have must be fraught with envy - check
Delusional belief that other people constantly measure themselves against the public personas of celebrities - check

It's all about what you've got isn't it chaps? Keeping up with the Kardashians, etc. Don't get your Calvin Kleins in too much of a twist though, I'm sure neither of you are image conscious in the slightest.

I agree.

Like many people who do alright for themselves but nowhere near super-rich levels of wealth, I do not feel the need to display my wealth on my person or on my driveway. Some people, especially on Pistonheads, see a value in cars which aren't worth very much in monetary terms but have something else to offer instead.

Many on Pistonheads would prefer to buy something fun rather than something - anything - with the latest number plate to show all everyone how much money you've borrowed.

Audis are especially prone to some chopper playing the jealousy card. I've had it myself previously. Anyone who, for whatever reason, just doesn't like Audis is accused of being jealous and the usual references to the cars listed in the PH Garage are used as conclusive proof of envy.

Of course, the PH Garage is not a comprehensive appraisal of someone's wealth or spending power. It may not list all of a member's cars. It doesn't list their home, it's value and whether it's mortgaged, wholly owned or rented. It doesn't list gross and net income, nor indeed investments. Hell it doesn't even list where people have other expensive toys such as boats and aeroplanes.

Finance deals nowadays are so competitive and drawn out over time that pretty much anyone in full-time work who runs anything reasonably modern could have a financed Audi sat on their driveway, if that was there mentality. Most newish Audis cruzin' about aren't owned - they're financed. Most of those are just financed by people who want a newish premium brand car that's easy to drive. Some of the rest are financed by delusional fknuts who think that other people are impressed with their credit rating. Most of those fknuts have friends even thicker who actually are impressed.

It makes one chuckle...

Stupidly large? You understand the wheels will be big to fill the big arches?

16's would look lost on there.
