What's the most annoying feature on your car?
Discussion
I have read lots of threads about best features (for the record it was the self-raising spoiler on my Corrado VR6 - pointless but cool) but what's the most annoying feature on your car?
On my Jeep, the service light beeping every time I start the car. I always get it reset every service but it only stays quiet for about a week and I get it serviced every 5000km.
On my Chrysler, I wish the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel lit up at night. They're not complicated but in the dark I can't see which one's which, so don't use it. By far more annoying is that it locks itself when I pull away (which is fine) but when I get to where I'm going the back door is locked when I want to get my bag off the back seat. There is a button on the driver's door panel to lock/unlock the doors but it doesn't work with the door open, so you have to get back in and close the driver's door to unlock all the doors. Very annoying!
By far the most annoying feature though was the boot on my mum's Ford Ka, which I used fairly regularly when my 205 GTi broke down! I enjoyed driving it but there was no external boot latch or internal release lever. Many a time did I drop a friend off on a cold night and have to turn off the engine, get out and use the key to get their stuff out of the boot. In all other respects a decent car but a cost-saving measure too far from Ford in my opinion. Very annoying!

Both my vehicles have little braille like dots on the cruise buttons, I told the missus it's so blind people can use them, same as the chime when the low fuel light comes on, I mean you wouldn't want a blind person wandering around the carriageway looking for a fuel station would you!it beeps when temperature is below 3°C, this one is not as bad as last because at least it tells you why it is beeping - but every autumn when temperature started dropping you'd suddenly get a beep in the middle of no-where and wonder what was going wrong with the car, until you remembered.
Next most irritating features - You must have foot on brake when putting it into drive, even when the parking brake is on and it won't put into drive until it is ready after turning engine on and puts some nagging complaint on screen (computerised is great but sometimes seems slower than old fashioned mechanical)

"Sound Tube" - AKA Intake Resonator - a shonky plastic pipe that runs from the engine air intake into a hole in the bulkhead that feeds 'noise' into the car. Apparently the Ford 5.0 DOHC isn't rowdy enough from inside the cabin. I tore mine out and threw it away - horrible piece of plastic crap attached to a really superb engine.

I worked for a Chrysler/Jeep dealer about 8 years ago and if that's all you can come up with...On my Chrysler, I wish the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel lit up at night. How about:-
Noisy, harsh and thirsty engines that couldn't pull your hat off.
Drivetrains that are more agricultural than Old MacDonald and the entire contents of his farm.
Suspension apparently engineered in the Thirteenth Century.
Interiors styled like a cheap steakhouse.
Nanny Knows Best notices everywhere with added "Bing bongs" warning you of things that only happen in Final Destination films (Warning, spinning the wheels can lead to decapitation).
Ridiculously short service intervals.
Suspension bushes made of melted cheese.
Every day I finished work and got into my 20 year old, 180,000 mile Alfa Romeo and considered it a giant step up.

This. Crapped myself whilst making progress on the M20 to have the car beep at me yet seemingly not say why, until you notice the temperature display flashing at you.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
