Mk3 Seat Ibiza is the 99-02 model, should be plenty in your price range! Last time I looked £1800-2200 got a very nice one.

Looks good, whats the interior like? Im just worried about the car in winter with the older one, without heated seats etc,
the MK2 does look good,

have you done anything to car at all? new Exhaust or anything?
With the roof up it gets really toasty really quickly - it's only a small cabin. I went out last week and with the roof down you'll need a hat and coat but feet and legs are kept really warm. Only gets really cold when on NSL for a long amount of time. This was 7.30am so was warmer in the day.

Car already had dual exit exhausts, aftermarket 15" wheels and lowered/stiffened suspension. Makes it look a bit butch-er I guess.

Yep, the mk1 in the picture. A lot are owned by 'enthusiasts' now so you wouldn't struggle to find one with a decent spec anyway. Most important mods I think is the suspension and a good set up.

I much prefer the mk1 in terms of styling and it looks more 'classic' to me. Some people prefer mk2 though. As far as I know, there's not much difference past the body shape and interior bits.

I bought mine on the cheap end of the scale as a bit of a project (mostly cosmetic) and for the summer just gone. Mechanically it was sound but the radiator did crack so I replaced that. I also service it and change brakes etc myself so can't really comment on what it would cost in a garage but parts are pretty cheap and the car is a doddle to work on.
