I'm reasonably handy but potentially would rather leave this to an expert, don't you need a certificate of installation too?

You do, but as I said above, you can get it done retrospectively. You just need it inspecting, and as long as it's been installed correctly, you'll get the certificate.
Well, actually, slight point of order, you don't get a certificate anymore, it just gets added to the LPG register.

Excellent advice, thanks again. Must admit looks wise I'm leaning towards a cherokee and for the amount of miles I will be doing in it wondering if LPG is a necessity.

The hunt is on.... I've emailed a chap near me in Bristol with a green cherokee for £1500 that is on ebay so will see how it pans out...
If you're near Brizzle I'm more than happy to have a look see. No expert, but have a rough idea as to what to look for.

Just check prices and availability of parts on the jeeps.

I paid about £120 for a simple abs sensor on my Jeep.

I'm after a Petrol/LPG or diesel Range Rover.
Is that opposed to the electric one? Or the Hydrogen powered one?!

Hi folks,
Thought I would update you, after some headscratching I bought a 4.0 p38 lpg from eBay yesterday, have covered 500 miles so far and touch wood all is well.
It has a bulging history which shows in the last two years, 4 air sacks, compressor, exhaust, all fluids changed regularly, serviced majoritively at main dealers and even better 40k or so ago a main dealer engine and gearbox exchange.
The only negative (which I knew about was the display on the air on screen, there is some of the LCD missing so I'll look into that.
Fingers crossed chaps biggrin
Oh it cost £1300 sept mot (no advisories) and has a multi point lpg system thumbup

Zj grand cherokees have the crappy viscous center diff transfer case.

Im swapping mine out for the case from a regular cherokee with selectable 4x4.

You need to swap the input shaft from the old case, but otherwise it drops right in.

Lovely smile

The old girl is currently covered in mud but will do, it's a weird (nice) colour, sort of a metallic royal blue. Just need to make it sound like my old TVR earsbiggrin

Good luck with the P38 - I get the feeling itll bend you over sooner rather than later, but for your sake I hope I am wrong smile

Good man! I have a late p38 and its great, over 2 years and no major probs, the air suspension works perfect, climate control perfect in fact all electrics apart from the cruise control which has packed up recently, looked at all the common faults and have replaced the ecu and relay and checked all the pipe work but I think it is the steering wheel ribbon as I hear a little crunch occasionally (No srs light though). You really do get a lot of car for the money, electric everything, 12 speaker stereo (if you have the sub woofer) and it sounds fantastic, lovely V8 which also sounds fantastic. The fuel consumption is the only down side but you get used to it.

Unlucky. Download the EAS Unlock software and get a cable. There's a chap on Landyzone in the Range Rover section who makes and sells them very cheaply - the software is free.

Or ask on that forum - someone close to you might already have the software or a tool you could borrow - they're very helpful.

If your compressor is working overtime and has packed up then there is probably a leak elsewhere.
