This is the same car that was on sale for 55k, although the price isn't there anymore.

Looks like he thinks the effort he's put into offering some provenance will see him doubling his money, a regular Wheeler Dealer you might say. Good luck to him.
I'd rather see all four cars go back to Honda.
What he said! I enquired through C&C.http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C400296

I think that's a looney price - the provenance is nice (provenance is EVERYTHING when looking at any valuable item) but as someone said (and a bit like that rally Escort) it's really just a hire-car/loaner and not really 'his' car.
His connection maybe makes it 10-20% more valuable and it's obviously worth something anyway as those cars are getting rarer in straight/low-mileage nick but that price - is - bonkers.

I've never understood the premium for a famous owner. i don't give a monkey who owned the car before.
Provenance is absolutely ESSENTIAL when you value items - I worked in fine arts auctioneering for a while and you quickly learn that it's one thing to have an item which appears original but it's another if it has history (because that backs-up the originality and adds patina to the whole experience).Famous people owning cars doesn't always massively increase their value (Diana's Metro is the classic example I think) but anything which adds 'flavour' to an item, adds some value to it just as lots of receipts or photos etc. does.
Everyone wants an original - everyone wants a well-cared-for car - everyone wants something special - and the more documentation you have for that stuff, the more money your item is worth.
Not THIS much tho

True bit of history and to think it could be sitting in your garage.
How is that a 'true bit of history'?It's not like he won the world championship in it or died in it. It's just a car he drove a few times.
It's no more a bit of history than the underpants he had on when the picture was taken.
I expect the hose pipe he's using must be worth a few grand on the same basis.
I'm with Lusifer on this one. Other than an mildly interesting aside it doesn't add any value to the car for me.

i have a toilet seat for sale that senna used at silverstone, yours for just 10 grand
I'm laughing, but without clear documentation showing Senna as owner/user, Hedgehog has a point. A trader friend of mine says "if a car has full service history, it jumps out of the glove box at you" I don't see any Senna paperwork jumping here...I believe it's a steal, given that Steve McQueen's 1970 911S sold for 1,375,000 USD which I suppose is at least 10-15 times what it would be worth otherwise.

As said before, to collectors it's the history of the car more that the vehicle itself. And as we know Senna is arguably the greatest driver of all times and hero to many.

Yes, but that was his own car. This Honda has The provenance of for example a push bike he may of borrowed to ride down the paddock to get some new gloves from his motorhomehttp://www.rmauctions.com/lots/lot.cfm?SaleCode=MO...
