Small engine, BIG car....

It's a 1.2T replacing the old 1.6 engine. The Ford 1.0 engine is the 1.0T which replaces the 1.6 and can already be had in the Fiesta and Focus. The engines aren't as low powered as they sound when you just state the cylinder capacity. Modern engines are more and more about getting the most power out of the smallest cylinder capacity with turbos and superchargers.
Yes a quart out of a pint pot Instead of a low power it will be a tiny engine flat out Yes good for long life esp the way people have been educated to maintain there cars by
The manufactures
I had the misfortune of having an escort van a few years ago. It said 55 on the side and i was praying it was something to do with the load space.
A 1.8 N/A diesel with less than 60bhp and 400kg of tools and equipment in the back.
Theres a big hill on the M8 around Livingston and if i didnt get a decent build up id be down into 3rd gear.

Never mind a 1.6 Vectra how about the 90s 1.4 Cavalier a mate had. It was the last model before becoming a Vectra so a Mark 3 I think? Truly awful thing with no redeeming features.
Not that long ago I had an E36 318i Touring. It wasn't that bad TBH but the space between the front of the engine and the radiator was quite comical, I'm sure I could have stood in the gap.

Left enough room for a proper engine, though...http://www.retrocaricons.com/article/Ford_Capri_Pe...
2286cc Land Rover diesel 62hp fitted to two-tonnes of LTI FX4 through a 3-speed autobox. That's 31hp per ton.
The Standard Atlas pictured above must be worse though?
I know you can get about 80mph out of the LTI Fairway on the flat. Going up a hill though, flat out can be 5mph. The Fairway had a 2.5 litre nissan engine. Much more powerful than the Land Rover 2.3. Same body, must have been very very very very slow.
Misleading photo. It's not going fast.
