I had Snowtrac 3 on my 9-5, no complaints at all, but they didn't fit on the 9-3 so I had to get another set an inch bigger. Drove to Norway last week and had their first proper test on compacted snow back roads. They were excellent. No loss of traction at all and equally ok on das autobahn on the way there.

Had a pair of Appolo Alnac 4G Winters fitted to the rear of the MX5 as the Rainsport 3 that were on had passed their best. They're supposed to be a made by the people that own Vredestein so we'll se how they go.

Well Nokians WR A3s fitted earlier today, Garage was skeptical at the 'budget brand', but then recommended running them at a lower pressure for better grip so took it with a pinch of salt. Really struggled to fit them but got them on in the end! Bring on winter I say

That's wrong. 2-3 psi higher than summer pressures is what the Nokian helpline recommended. Mine have worn fine at this pressure level.

Just put the winters back on the E39. Falken HS439 in 225/45/17 and 255/40/17. They're in place of the normal summer rubber which are Bridgestone Potenzas.
The Falkens have got about 4000 miles on them so used but pretty new as far as tread depth goes.
I've forgotten how nice they make the ride but needed a little bedding in even though they've been previously used. A quick hammer up and down the bypass plus traction control off and a heavy right foot brought them straight back in a couple of miles.
So much more grip, especially in quicker corners and braking.
Happy to be back on them. Bring on the white stuff.

I had another hour long blast in the Clio today at 4 degrees on wet roads and there's no way any winter tyre would have gripped the same as the Goodyear Eagles I've got.
