We saw one on the M25.

My wife asked "what sort of person drives one of those?"
My answer "a PHer"

My neighbour has the Ford equivalent - called the freda.
He is into fell running, long distance running and its suits his life style, as its like a basic home from home.

Outside my office there is a Toyota Previa camper. It is badged as somethgng else and has daft english script along the side like "freedom enjoy"

Serious question, are campervans and motorhomes a big cult over in Japan?

My brother has one although not a 4x4. It's one of the cars that's big enough for him to fit his family in as well as his dinghy without a trailer. The roof lifts to sleep in too.

When I was self employed working on boats, one of my regular customers had a Mazda Friendee camper for staying in at the marina because (he said) it was more comfortable than his boat.

But I think he was a bit... odd nuts... his boat was 75feet long, had two en-suite double cabins, a full size Galley/Kitchen and a living room/saloon with Satellite enabled 50" plasma screen...

I actually really want one of these as a second vehicle. Plenty of space for bikes and somewhere to sleep without being ridiculously huge. What's not to like?

How can you not love it? The name alone makes it brilliant.

Makes far more sense than the scrap VW camper vans that litter the hard shoulder of the M5 come summer!

I love ours.

Got us all round france in 2012.

In 2013 it got us part way round France until the cylinder head went. I don't know much French but when the mechanic said 'mort' I knew what he meant.

It's home and fixed now and behaving itself.

On the motorway (not happy gf)

These are advertised on ebay as a "4 berth". I'm guessing two on the seats folded flat and two in the roof space? But how do they get in and out?

Through a hatch in the roof. 4 berth is pushing it. 2 kids and 2 adults more like. When me and gf go away I usually claim the roof and she says downstairs. Roof is brilliant, really thick tent material and fully cushioned roof mattress thing.

It's even better if you include the pop up roof name: Mazda Bongo Friendee Free Top
