RE: Robert Kubica onboard (again): Time For Tea?
Discussion
He's a real loss to F1, but really his talent would have been wasted managing tyres in 2013. A pundit said that Kimi is just interested in going fast and couldn't be bothered having to learn how to deal with pace notes. Given Robert was rallying already perhaps part of his outright pace is because he can use pace notes.
I found that light dangling about on the end of a lead very distracting.

So did he, it's why he went off (he was asked at the end of the stage about it and explained - in English - to the reporter. He hadn't even got out of the car by that point).I found that light dangling about on the end of a lead very distracting.

Getting it to try to translate from that wrongly translated Polish-portugese to English is quite funny in the closed captions.
thanks for the link, it's actually really funny listening to them talking to each other, Kubica swears right before going off at 2:45, the co-pliot in return warns him about that canopy they've missed there, then, later on, Kubica shouts to Szczepanik to switch the lights back to normal rather than rally... and as you can see, he's still fiddling with different lighting options as they progress through the stage, at the same time giving the pace notes with incredible speed, impressive stuff from both to say the least.right before the chicane, Szczepanik says he's afraid about turning the lights off alltogether, after he's asked again to switch them.
stunning

No doubting the boy's awesomely quick, but he needs to wind it in a bit and gain some consistency, otherwise it'll end in tears (again). "If in doubt, flat out" is great for the spectators, not so for keeping your car intact or winning championships.
The rally boys are the unsung heroes of the motorsport world IMO. Most have balls of steel......

I second that. One name comes to mind from recent times - Russian Novikov. Great guy to watch, not so great to stay in WRC for 2015...http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
