My mother had a Ford Probe when they first came out. I used to love the. Pop up headlights. I can't for the life of me remember when I last saw one on the road. I think M928 UEJ has gone to the great scrap yard in the sky.
That car hasnt been on the road since 2005. Only lasted 11 years, I am guessing it was written off.

I saw a Maestro at the weekend which has to count as a rare sighting. What struck me was how light and airy it looked with a lot of glass and very narrow pillars. It certainly demonstrated how cars have changed over the years.

I'd say any car that hasn't been made for 15 years or more especially if it's not considered a classic.

Rarely even see a 406 now. Not sure why, always thought they were quite well made, and there were millions of them.

I was just discussing last night with my Dad about the last of the Granada’s with the hideous headlights totally disappearing, it was after I was asking about a Neighbours Renault 18 which my dad reckons has sat on the guys drive way for 17 years without moving!
Maybe an idea for a thread of what's the longest a car has sat for on a driveway as I'm sure there is way longer biggrin

I've got a good one... Vauxhall Tigra. Used to see loads, even 6/7 years ago there were quite a few about.

Citroen Saxo too. Still see quite a few 106s though?

Ah good old memories

Renault 19 16valve chamade phase 1 or 2
Renault 5 gt turbo raider
Renault 21 turbo or even raider quadra version
Astra Belmont
Fso polonez
Lara samara
Charade gtti
Swift gti

Serving my time in a Renault garage I used to work on the top two types all the time, and every so often you would see a 21 turbo in and lusted after one for a very long time

No great loss - sadly Ford Pumas seem to have all but gone the way of the dodo too and Cougars (I liked them a lot) too.

Ooh, the train of thought has led to Ford Probe, Mazda MX3 and MX6, Nissan 180 & 200SX, 300ZX also.

Lancia Dedra. There are 12 of this year (1990) left on the roads.

Afew years back there used to be a nice amount of Toyota Starlet GT Turbos and Glanza V's. Now there hardly seems to be any, especially with the former. I was never a fan of the quad-headlight variants, I much prefer the normal headlight ones.
I noticed one of these tonight - on an L plate - in white

The 206 is everywhere! Sure they all look knackered, but there are loads - just under half a million in fact! http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/combined/peugeot_206
