This looks like fun. I'd have to put bigger tyres on in though.

A mate of mine has a Laguna, he's added 115k to the 50k we bought it on and it's been fine. Snapped spring aside.
He treats it pretty gently, it took him 12 months to find the button on the bottom of the accelerator
Ok, that gives me some hope. I'm hoping it will be plain-sailing from here onwards. To be fair, it's a '55 plate facelift with loads of toys (Initiale spec) which had already done 170k when I got it (and is now up to 173k in a matter of weeks). I got it for Bargain Basement Thread money (which reminds me, I must update with pics at some point), so I can't complain really. He treats it pretty gently, it took him 12 months to find the button on the bottom of the accelerator
Hmmmmmmm....... chavstoril

I loved my old 106 XSi:
It was the 1.6, on ITBs, putting out 122bhp. Little rocket, that thing. I never had an issue with my Size 12's in the pedal box either.

Very cool
Thanks. It's another of my old cars that I wish I'd kept because it was mint and now they're pretty much all gone.
Was only worth £1000 when I sold it too. Dammit. Should've kept the RX-7 too...

I think the 306 (be it S16, GTI-6 or Rallye) is my favourite hot hatch. Theoretically, that is - I have never driven a hot hatch of any kind*.
That is surprising. I think a hot hatch is the perfect car, for me at least. If you can only have one car why not have one thats a jack of all trades. I realise its master of none but if it was it would compromise other areas more than likely. If you can have several cars then fair enough. (* other than a Rent4Ring Swift but that doesn't really count)

Cut price/modern 205 alternative.....hmmm.

Was only thinking the other day that no car I have ever owned (or possibly even driven) has suited my needs more than a 1.9 205 GTi.
I once owned a metallic lager 306 GTi/6. Very good car, but not even in the same ballpark as the 205 IMO.
306 is a much more modern car and more useable day-to-day than the 205, albeit not as sharp as its forebear. I once owned a metallic lager 306 GTi/6. Very good car, but not even in the same ballpark as the 205 IMO.

I think a Puma would be equally as good and useable if ford had managed to leave rust on the options list. L100NYY said:

An interesting short video, albeit not exciting or thrilling. I would love to see a Petrolicious style video of this Bentley doing an epic Euro jaunt. Tux at breakfast, of course.
And for those that missed it;

I have to say that Kidston's 300SL is utterly, wonderfully fantastic. Just look at it.
Ive not read the article but just from the pictures Im thinking its disappearing up its own arse! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VV1XWJN3nJo
