It doesn't bother me to be honest what other's think, i am the one who has to drive it etc.... like i said, the Recaro's would have been nice but as this car has just had the cambelt, full service and 4 new premium tyres i can live without the seats for the price i paid. I have bought the cheapest 197 Cup in the country and on paper i would argue its one of the best out there regarding the condition and service history.
Excellent - well done!

I applaud his efforts. I wish I had the foresight to do something similar, but Porsche GB was already threatening me for libel when I wrote my 'blog' on PH. Ultimately it's not as clear cut a situation when you buy a used car.
It's only libel if it's not true.
Of course. But Porsche was quite adamant that my claims were of no substance, hence the threats.

Looking back, the letters make amusing reading, now that I've put it all behind me. Even my own solicitor (hired purely as a shop door because I did all his work for him) wanted me to pull out.

Seats can be retrofitted. Ebay is your friend.

Get in. Drive. Give no fks. Done.

The chap has just bought a new car. Isn't it slightly bad form to just point out something you don't like about it?

It'd be like him showing you a pic of his new girlfriend and going "Ha, she's got a fat arse"

Be happy, be nice.

You might want to try "Nice Clio, they're great fun. I prefer the lightweight Recaro seats, but each to their own"

Apologies if this comes across as a bit preachy, but I'm sick of these sorts of throwaway comments being used more and more often on PH.
1. I didn't know he'd bought it. I thought it was being offered up for the audience, like 99% of the other cars on here. Apologies for that.
2. If I'd known he was looking for such a thing, I could have referred him to Herr Loon, who is currently "using" one (which has Recaros).
3. If I had known he'd bought it, my response would have been congratulatory.
4. ISTR someone (?!) bemoaning the colour of the fking wheels on Jeremy's Gallardo when he posted a pic of his new toy.

If it helps, try page 356 of Vol. 15.

5. Here's your petard, I'll let you do your own hoisting.

Massive congrats Jeremy, that's an absolute beauty and I know how long you've been looking for the right one!

Now, get those alloys sprayed silver, or at least titanium grey and it'll be perfect.... wink

I did want the Recaro's but this has had all the necessary work done and the standard seats offer plenty of support so I am not complaining.
And finally, apologies to you. I thought you were offering this up for opinions, not as an announcement of a new arrival.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

Ferris, the statement of mine you quoted actually supports my post. I'm congratulatory then add a bit of jest.

I however do concede that you misunderstood his post.

Let's all kiss and make up shall we? There are few enough people in this thread these days as it is without us lot falling out!

Normally not a fan of black wheels, but it works well on the Clio because of the bump strips. Really nice car!
