I'm going to bring the tone of the thread down slightly, with my latest addition...
Cost me the grand total of.....FA! I bet you'll never guess what is wrong with it!
Wheels aren't staying with the car, I have some 15" OEM items to go on there.
That really is lovely!! I haven't seen one in a long time and had almost forgotten they existed.Cost me the grand total of.....FA! I bet you'll never guess what is wrong with it!

HGF is correct, going to repair it myself and use it as a winter car.
I'm 993 and Corniche shopping today but this just caught my eye.....

You know its spring right?
I do, but hopefully my MX5 will be back from the body shop shortly. I want to fend off the rust for as long as I can in it, so the Rover will serve me during the winter months.Sadly it's not a turbo, but a late VVC. Figures suggest it's not too slow, 60 in lows 7s and 130-something. That seems a little optimistic for a big car with only 143bhp though!

Hopefully it won't have the torque steer that I believe the turbo is famous for. I like the K-series. Sadly it's not a turbo, but a late VVC. Figures suggest it's not too slow, 60 in lows 7s and 130-something. That seems a little optimistic for a big car with only 143bhp though!
How much does the suspension design share with Hondas of the same era? If there are some similarities it would suggest the handling could be made to be quite fun.
Switzerland, I've discovered, has a hidden underground of real petrolheads (as opposed to the standard well-orf-so-I'll-buy-a-silver-Audi-S4 types) and can sometimes throw up something really interesting.
I saw one of these yesterday, which I didn't even know existed!
An XJ coupe - what a wonderfully proportioned old thing!

I think the Caymans and Boxsters look great in photos but I was very disappointed when I saw them for real in traffic - they're just too big (or at least, their styling is too 'big').
Compared to the old models they seem to have a much higher waistline, they are much more slab sided and as with everything these days, the wheels are too big.
That photo of the GTS for example - if the Cayman was scaled down such that those wheels were 18 inch instead of 20/21, I would probably love it.

I owned one of them back when I were a lad. XJC 4.2. Waftastic! I saw one of these yesterday, which I didn't even know existed!

Needed much room to open doors though.
