Ah the old "one size fits all" conundrum!
I'd reluctantly decided another e46 M3 was the answer (reluctantly, because I really wanted something with back doors) until I found this B10. Obviously a rather different proposition, but similar money, more go and much greater comfort.
Time will tell whether it scratches sufficient itches.
But that manual CS looks great. Big money though.
I'll don my pedantic cap and say 'nein'. I'd reluctantly decided another e46 M3 was the answer (reluctantly, because I really wanted something with back doors) until I found this B10. Obviously a rather different proposition, but similar money, more go and much greater comfort.

No doubt you're right.
My arse dyno thought the B10 felt proper quick in the mid range - which I guess corresponds to its 100Nm-ish advantage over the e46 and markedly different power delivery.
But I don't question for one moment that the e46 is the more engaging drive and the quicker car point to point. It's also where my money would have gone, but for the imminent arrival of Baby Grubes.

There's no doubt the M3 is more engaging. It may also be slightly quicker, although the torque in the V8 does thump you down the road fairly well. There is no doubt whatsoever that the B10 is a far more cossetting ride than the M3 however. With slightly older kids who can climb into a car seat themselves, M3 wins. For young family, B10 each and every time.

Posted by me in the 5-20k thread on 18th July when it was 14,999. Was tempting enough then and now even more so. Ignoring the driver's seat which needs some tlc it looks like a stonking chariot.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REPOSSESSION-PART-EX-200...
$38.115m

Despite eclipsing the previous world record held by the ex-Fangio Mercedes-Benz W196, which was sold (also by Bonhams) for circa $30m in 2013, the sale did not surpass the rumoured $52m private exchange of 250 GTO chassis 5111GT (a Tour de France winner) last year.

Dare I say it but was that GTO 'cheap'?
Just called up to switch insurance onto the CLK, "sorry sir you must be over 30 for that car, there is a referral - please hold"
Thank fk, because I have nil claims/points and I'm 29 and 3months they'll make an exception. Weird though as they quoted me via confused.com??

Exactly.Combined with the slow down in London property it is clear bad times are ahead.
If I was a classics and sports car dealer I think the wise move would be to slash my prices and sell off all my stock to my internet chums before it is completely worthless.
