After that I took a 10-plate V8 Vantage Roadster for a little drive. Had the later 4.7 engine and the Sportshift 'box. Three things stood out - firstly, it rode beautifully. Secondly, it really didn't feel fast at all. And thirdly, that gearbox is woeful.
The manual V12 Vantage is the one to try. It rarely feels slow.
Um... Lancia Fulvias... can anyone give me a quick guide? There seems to be a very wide price spread for (to the uninitiated) similar-looking cars.
For example:
160,000 EUR
84,950 EUR
30,000 EUR
25,000 EUR
And anyone know how an Alfa 2000 GTV compare?
24,900 CHF

A couple of years ago I was looking to spend a reasonable amount of cash on a car and tried out all the usual suspects in the £40k range (Cayman, 911, v8v, Evora etc...). I know this is a difficult reason for a lot people on PH to understand these days, but I bought an Evora as it was the best car to actually drive...

One for you Ferris.........
The chap who bought "our" CS just sold it for just over 10% more than he paid me for it last year. Seems like it was a good buy. And that CS prices are gently on the rise. It's now back at pre 2011 price but with 27k miles more on the odo.
Thats good news for me, after I bought at roughly the same time. Did the guy say what he was replacing with? I really need 4 doors now, but the E90 M3 looks to be a step too far in the wrong direction for me. Interesting timing, I might have been interested in taking that back again. The chap who bought "our" CS just sold it for just over 10% more than he paid me for it last year. Flangio! Nice R4 here.
I've got no idea what the advert means, but I like that it is "completely of origin in its juice".

Can't help with the Lancias other than to say they are lovely looking cars! And anyone know how an Alfa 2000 GTV compare?
Anything with HF in the badge is going to be expensive!
Biggest difference - the Fulvia is front wheel drive. The Alfa is rear wheel drive.
I would imagine there are more bits (standard and modified) for the Alfa, certainly in this country.
