Well fellow threadists, here's a headsup to something that's happening this weekend.

From 10:30pm on Saturday Night all the way through to 7am Sunday morning live on Motors TV and BT-Sport-HD it's "The Great Race"

Yup it's the Bathurst 1000 again, and I wont be missing a second!...

Here's a taste of what it's all about....

This looks like it might be interesting, trailer for a documentary about BMW's touring car history.

Cracking little vid.

Might have said it before, but Mt. Panorama is around 30 times narrower, steeper, and more difficult than it looks on any video. Makes the 'Ring look like an autobahn.

Thank you Crook, Awesome image. I do love a matt orange SLS. Your colleagues snap shot is now my screen saver da jour. Until I find a bright orange Batmobile one to replace it. Must do some work.

Surely that's a Cortina-Lotus, being a mk2 having been built at Dagenham. wink
I know, I know. The dealer has it wrong on their website as well ... wink

But I wanted to bait Threadists, and had a quiet bet that Olly-the-Socks would be first to point that out. hehe

Also might be joined by a friend in either a fast red car or an old grey car. biggrin

BBC iPlayer, search for "Road" story of Joey and Robert Dunlop, and Roberts sons William and Michael, sometimes hilarious, sometimes harrowing
and if you don't know then the end is so moving.

Utterly mesmerising

  • WARNING* there are some pretty shocking scenes.

That does look good.

Always thought that the scene in The Bourne Identity was a fitting tribute to the car.
