This sounds an honest 996 and it has an LSD - realistic milage and a good service history - shame it appears hartech have only serviced not rebuilt the engine.

A serial 540 owner from forum5 went and had a look and popped up a brief note on its shortcomings.
What bork was uncovered....

5.0 V10 as a daily is where it's at.

Yup, that looks like about how far I get between fill-ups too... hehe
It's not it's selling point is it hehe

80 miles daily commute is, errr, interesting rofleek
I just love the idea of a bunch of BMW M engineers sitting around a table brainstorming - when one of them pipes up with the most ridiculous proposal yet: "what about a 5L V10?" - and then, despite the heinous impracticalities, this faintly preposterous idea makes it into production ...

90 miles daily here and was considering it, thinking it couldn't be *that* much worse than the E38's V12. Oh but it can. Paltry tank size relatively speaking also an embuggerance. Makes the V8 look somewhere approaching sensible...

Robatrons would probably be a better buy!

It is a fantastic engine, it really is. I also like the sheer 'eat-up-the-miles-abilty' factor it possesses too, a proper GT esque feel to it. I think mon frere is taking his M6 down to Tuscany soon, apart from the fuel consumption I can't think of a much better car for the trip to be honest.

No link, just a pic borrowed from Google Images. I was trying to remember which old PC game had the LM002 in it, but I'm struggling.

ETA - and now I've remembered - Stunts. You could create tracks with corkscrews, loop-the-loops etc and drive it in one of these.

The tow rope suggests someone wasn't too keen on actually using the engine. hehe

Have any of you little chickens visited the NEC Classic Car Show? If so, worth a look?

LM002 - awesome.

NEC - perhaps not the most glamorous day out, but then it is in Birmingham.

A decent variety of decent cars to ogle, though?

Some interesting stuff but it ain't Pebble Beach (or even Retromobile). Would probably rather go Morris Dancing than be involved in some of the club stands though.
