Nice.

Back in the day (about 1990, I guess), the woman who lived next door to me had one of these - dark green in colour. It was lovely. And somehow made her appear lovely, too.

Dear Santa,

Mk2.
8 valve.
Small bumper.
Non quarterlight.
Diamond cut teardrops.
Factory PAS.
No mods.

If that was black, I wouldn't sleep.
I'll take that in Tornado, but without the diamond cut alloys. That's my perfect Mk2 right there, that is.

Well, I wouldn't pay £11k for one, but they're a pleasant bit of nostalgia. Had some good times in my old 8v. Mostly topping up the oil, IIRC.

Better put together than my old Mk1 but driving a Mk2 after owning a 309 Gti felt like wearing diving boots compared to the 309's running shoes

Nice e34's are a bit silly at the moment, which is a shame.
See, there's the one that I care not for, which is a bit odd I realise.

Who pays that for an 8v Mk2, I mean really. The world has gone mad.

The ex-Derin 528i is currently for sale at £5995. If that's still in the condition it was when it left him, that'd be well worth a punt. Albeit it needs a few more quid to replace the E39 Turbines it's currently wearing.

Which begs the question, why not do it before you try to flog it?

I would, any day of the week. Mainly because I'd be confident of banking every single used note again come resale time.

Still plenty of moneyed middle aged guys around trying to relive their youth. The right car will always fetch strong money.

Easy, but not necessarily quick - it'll be 10 days to get a tail panel from Germany, however long it takes to source a rear bumper and then likely weeks waiting for a slot at a reputable bodyshop. If he's heading abroad imminently as it says in the advert then he may not have time.

How easy is it to go back to steel bumpers on these? I've never liked the M5 bodykit.
