An S4 has a nicer cabin than a CLK, similar economy, similar performance and also won't be as fun as a 182.
Better compromise to be had from a manual E46 M3 perhaps?£5350 M3 SMG http://www.generalcars.co.uk/used-cars/bmw-m3-uxbr...
...lots, probably. Only one way to find out though.

I knew that I'd seen the picture before, and it piqued my interest when you posted, but I was put off by the perceived condition combined with the price. However, after idly browsing autotrader on Sunday morning and seeing the price was reduced, I decided to go and take a look after ringing the chap.
It is indeed a one owner car, and whilst it does have FSH, its hardly been used in the last few years and so it now needs some fairly major tlc. The wheels are pretty corroded, in fact one of the rears is as bad as I have ever seen, and the interior, albeit being the heritage upgrade, with leather dash console etc has had seven bells kicked out of it by two kids over the last 13 years.
Still, it was honest, straight, looked OK otherwise, so I did the exact opposite of what any sane person would do, and purchased. I've dithered around buying an E39 M5 for over 4 years, so with the advent of a friend buying his dream 911 last week, the conversation on the way to collect gathered my thoughts regarding a purchase.
So, I have a new car that my wife doesn't know about yet, I had too many cars before I purchased this one, its bound to cost me the proverbial to get it up to scratch, but you only live once right? right? (anyone interested in a manual interlagos blue M3 CS?)

As for the CS... I was looking for a nice, unmolested manual in IB a few months back before buying the 'Pina. Grrr. Ummm... Care to share some details?

Really? It's a Max Power'd XR4i isn't it? I don't see that as at all desirable, especially at £4500.

If I'd known......bought it 12 months ago to scratch an itch, done the grand total of about 3k miles in it! Its done 80k miles, good spec with all the options bar rear blind and sunroof I believe. Just had the wheels refurbed and wearing brand new Michelin PSS. PM me if interestedAs for the CS... I was looking for a nice, unmolested manual in IB a few months back before buying the 'Pina. Grrr. I've never seen this colour on a funf before, the interior is rather good as well imo

Surely it's condition that they're priced on? Obviously miles do play a part, but buying on condition is better than miles/owners?
You really need the perfect combo of miles, history and condition to charge top dollar though. That said, if the ad is to be believed, that one is probably priced about right (assuming we're talking about the e39 and not the RR).

Maintenance on the go, perhaps adjusting to different quality fuel or altitudes etc? You never know where that Chinook might take you!Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
