With hindsight (and alcohol) I probably would have done....

I had a 126 as my first car, bought it at 16, and fettled it for a year before being released on to the tarmac, it was baby blue. I fitted some 13" hugely wide Minilight style wheels I found at a local car boot sale, and "converted" the exhaust to come out centrally and point up at 45 degrees with a chrome cone end, like a beach buggy I thought. Then removed everything except the drivers seat, to save weight, the first day on the road was very disappointing....... http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C471691
Within a week I bought a BRG Dolomite Sprint for £300, that was better. Then a Gold 635 Csi, ah the heady days when "drive any car" insurance was still available to 17 year old spotty youfs. It was only years later under the same policy that I finally pushed the talent/horsepower ratio too far with a R5GT and a hedge, sorry mum, think I still owe her some monthly subs on that car.

At half the over inflated price of a straight one?
Probably, yes.
EFA. Probably, yes.
If I was in the market for one, I'd do a bit more research on how to understand if the thing is straight after all of the work, but at half the going rate, I might be tempted. Will be interesting to see if it sells. I assume somebody will buy it on the day in ignorance.
1275cc/5spd 'box - all it needs is a set of period seats and an original steering wheel imho;

So, an EG Daytona rep. Sort of.
Based on a 365 GT4, retaining the chassis and running gear, even down to the instruments, it is a genuine 365, rebodied.
Sub 50k seems like a steal.
It may not be pukka, but it's not that far removed from a chopped coupe really. I want it.

I mentioned it on my readers car thread, but when we took the mini to montecarlo for our honeymoon last year we stumbled across this on our last day.€3800 for sale ad in the window!
You can just about make out the only blemish the thing had, a minor stone chip on the front panel, minter than mint it was.
Not sure how much tax is involved in re-registering a car from the principality but that must have been an absolute bargain non? Laura was desperate to buy it but I said she had to drive it home if we did!
