Gents, daft question I know, but can somebody point me in the direction of a suitable all encompassing HPI check that will tell me all the nasty info I don't want to know about before buying a car I don't need but really really want?
Well, it's nice to see my self control is still non existent, oh bother......
ears
Common sense would dictate that a diesel auto would be the most suitable vehicle to journey to the 70 mile daily commute on motorway and city driving.

What have I bought instead? A Civic Type R with aftermarket Koni suspension and stainless exhaust. Does sound good though, and it goes like the clappers nuts
They are a hoot to drive yes

Just had a quick search and found that it is the Dodge Hellcat SRT.
I have also found that that picture is of its best angle

Now if they'd just make an SRT Dart...

Assuming (for no good reason) that it's priced the same as the Challenger, it's 707bhp for $60k. With a warranty.

or whatever the rubber bunged Hi Po Mustang is.
'cos that looks like it goes pretty damn well and won't look big on our roads thanks to Audi / BMW / Merc making all normal cars fking huge.

Long gone elsewhere, thankfully. biggrin

The 'Grale was one of my neighbours. He too has long since moved away, so no idea whether he still has it.

It was quite an eclectic collection in the street,. with variously my TVRs and RS2 parked alongside the Wooden Wonder and the Italian. hehe

It is. They had to put a lot of engineering work into it, as there is (apparently) an architectural issue with flat planes over 4.5 litres. From memory, their solution was a big rubber damper.
Same reason you don't find big four-cylinders without balance shafts (e.g. 2.5-3.0 Porsche fours) - they're internally-imbalanced by design. Flat-plane V8 is just two inline fours on the same crank so same problem.

Think the 918 is otherwise the biggest production flat-plane V8.

Don't forget our own Plucky Brit TVR produced a 4.5 litre flat plane V8 in the Cerbera.

Aftermarket tuners are now converting these to have capacities between 4.7 and 5.0 litres. cool

Looks underwheeled to me, anyone else get that?

IMO I'd say that it's not so much that, it just looks a bit too stretched and the detail has been stretched to accommodate the length and it makes it all look a bit uncomfortable on the eye. It's a big 2 tonne car so if the wheels were much bigger, though it may look 'better' on the page, in reality they would be huge.

Yes - if my friend's 4.2 Cerbera was anything to go by, a bit of extra engine vibration couldnt cause much more to drop off.

I'll be at Goodwood for the Sunday Service on 14th December, but not for the trackday on the 13th.

Are you going on Saturday, Sunday or both? smile
