Why has the £18k not been accepted?

S38B36 head and block where an M88/3 should be.
Vendor is adamant that it's how it left the factory. And has had offers at £18k already apparently.
Maybe the seller want to have a read of this,

Here's a text I got following a phone conversation with him earlier today:

vendor said:
Thanks for your enquiry earlier today about the BMW M635 - 1985 model.
I can confirm that the engine is a straight 6 24 valve "S38" engine designed for this car from the factory.
The only difference from most other m635's out their is that this one has a modified coil pack and is probably more reliable as a result. Price is still a bargain - as stated in the advert
Many thanks

I'm sure it is. But it not being right also means the price isn't right.

Sold. What were they asking? That does look v nice - especially without the dorky airbag equipped wheel.

I miss my M5 touring of the same vintage. : (

Though I don't miss the bills for replacing the EDC shocks. And the 2007 replacement is far from unsatisfactory. : )

That 1600GT looks fantastic. We also have a Purbeck Grey one tucked up in the garage but it hasn't turned a wheel since 1980. Really need to pull my finger out and get it running and back on the road. driving

This afternoon I'm mostly looking at this for £22k

… and thinking what's the worst that could happen?

I guess around £5k a year is about the worst, isn't it? Does look nice, though.

Wheel/tyre combo fail.

Needs at least 70 section rubber on there.

Think it was 8,500?
Seems like a steal, now that it has sold!

What is it with old Fords made to look like rollerskates on stupidly small wheel/tyre combos?
