I am covered in flea bites and the only places they could have come from are my office or car. Health and Safety says they can't use chemicals straight away at work. So I have got some chemicals and sprayed both my office and car. By the way I have no pets. It got me thinking could they be living in the car air-con?
This is driving me mad. I have bites on my ankles and back where it touches my car seat and office chair (both of which are leather). Has anyone else experienced this and how do you get rid? Put in GG because of the potential car link.

Apparently they need blood to live on so they couldn't be living in the air con as such. Are you 100% certain they are in the car? If it is infested, you will see the carpet pretty much moving.

Had the same problem after emptying a rented house. Bought a smoke bomb from a pet shop, 3 hours later problem solved.

Beware though, it took months before thd smell disappeared!

Go into your nearest vet surgery - they will have a spray you can buy to kill fleas in furniture and carpets, so it should be ok for a car too (check though!).

Check the active ingredients on flea treatments - they're nearly all the same, but you get far better value out of a big can of unbranded stuff from the vet.

I am pretty sure they are in the office. Some bites before Christmas. None over Christmas. Covered now. However I didn't use the car much over the holiday. I'm just trying to cover the bases with the car (been in it for 9 hours in the last 24 and no fresh ones) and will insist on a smoke bomb at work. The itching is terrible.

Bottles of Bob Martin flea spray available from the supermarket may be worth a try. Only a couple of quid.

I've already sprayed everything twice but want to be sure. I have looked for a car air-con bomb with insecticide but not had any luck. However as an earlier poster said they need blood to live. However they could be sneaking in and out of the vents.

I can't see any in the car or office. The marks on me have been confirmed by a doctor. None on the family. Where else should I look?

They'll be in the carpets if they're in the car, I'd be surprised though as it will regularly be quite cold in there.

Sounds pretty nasty, good luck!

Are you definitely 100% sure it's fleas - have you actually seen one?

Could be an allergic reaction to something, a virus, scabies, the pox, anything..
