I though I would start this thread after reading the Jag XK thread where a couple of people have suggested the facelifts have improved the look of the origional car.

So what facelifts do you think have improved the looks of a cars design? Pics will be good to to compare!

Perhaps a little off the wall, but i actually think, given the budget constraints, Rover did bloody well with the 75 facelift. Still handsome to this day in my eyes!

The current 1 series BMW gets my vote, it looks far better than it's predecessor.

Igniting the 'what constitutes a facelift' argument in three, two...

I agree, the Rover 75 facelift is a big improvement. The MG ZT facelift however looked worse than the original.

Thats not a facelift - it is an entire new model.

My Choice:
Alfa 166

And I know some people disagree with this, and the prefacelift is still a very nice car, but...

I think the headlights look much better than the earlier "Fairy light" DRLs

Agree... but isn't one a 7, and one a 5?

Crikey guys. Any chance we could resize our images to sensible proportions before posting? I thought we were going to run out of internet before that Audi downloaded.

I think the E46 looked a lot better post facelift, the lights and front bumper really freshened up the car.

The Ital was supposedly a lot more than just a facelifted Marina. The name indicated the complete redesign undertaken by an Italian design studio.
The differences are so obvious I find it hard to believe anyone would think they were in any way related. wink

I remember going on the ferry to France in the same month the new Ital was launched. My family went in a BMW 2002 and the family who went with us went on their new Ital. At the ferry port they were mobbed by the British tourists looking at the new Ital, whilst the 2002 did not get a second glance.

They are both 5's, although one is a coupe and one is a sportback. Both have the same from though

The facelift that made the Multipla look like a normal car for normal people, and removed the forehead as well. The revised version is dull, but I daresay it's an improvement in the eyes of most.
