I didn't realise the 2010 was unpopular? Personally I much prefer the looks of the '10 to the '05 shape and they're rarer!
The '10 is unpopular because the vast majority of 05-09 owners looking to upgrade didn't like the rear end of it (a bit too rounded and Jap for a US car) but mainly because they released the new shape and left the 300hp 4.6 engine in it albeit with the 15hp Bullit Mustang upgrade (which is nothing more than an engine tune you can get for $100 from any tuner). it wasn't until the 430hp 5.0L Coyote V8 came out that people started getting on with the new shape. Personally I prefer the looks of the 05-09 over the 2010+. You don’t see many of the newer shape over here because unlike the 05 cars where the $:£ rate was ~2:1 and they really were £26k otr over here, by the time the 10+ came out they were in the £34k ballpark for a V8, you are (or were) looking are around £40k for a well-equipped V8 at the moment I think (brand new car).

well if we're going to be posting pix...

now to me this just 'works' even in standard form. I've already made a minor (semi-enforced) mod & there'll likely be a few more changes along the way

Have to say I really lusted after an s197 at launch. I'd have wanted IUP, red leather and screaming yellow clearcoat with black stripes. All quite doable but the interior colour frown

A bit like this:

Maybe one day, although you'll have to pry me from my Camaro first.

Well it'd be rude not to if we're doing pics.
A mate of mine with his Shelby GT500, my old Roush 427 and my Cali Special.

I've had mine for 5 years now, 6 years in March, just clicked over 115,000 kms.

Has cost me the square root of fk all to run, couple of batteries, tires of course and some refreshed suspension bits a few months ago are about all that spring to mind.

Mine has a JLT CAI and a Bama tune, the only time I tracked it a rather angry Frenchman couldn't get his 997 S past it on the straight at Dubai Autodrome. Also had Borla catbacks but the nasty men at the registration here made me take those off frown

Genuinely don't know what I would replace it with in terms of 'bang for buck', yes the interior is not up to European standard, nor the handling but there are very few drivers roads here.

Gratuitous pictures.

they are brilliant cars, and (for the same money) the choices in the UK were a bit limited, my old one which had 2010 door mirrors and Shelby GT500 wheels. Was a brilliant car:

...nearly as good as my 'other' Mustang

Not biased, honest!

Here's mine - a car I've grown to love, despite not really wanting to.
5.0 GT in Performance White with red leather innards. Mine has a Bama tune, Airaid CAI, Raxiom smoke halos, Hotchkiss bushes and a strut brace. About to put it on 19" charcoal AMR wheels and then GT500 brake kit. That will be it as far as mods go - but utilizing a resource like www.americanmuscle.com you can keep going forever upgrading these cars.

Well as we Mustang owners obviously love posting pictures of our cars. Here's my 2007 Shelby GT500 which I bought last May with 7600 miles from new. Previously I owned a 2005 manual GT for 5 years and 23,000 happy miles.

However the Shelby is a bit of a upgrade: comes with a hand built 5.4 litre 4 cam engine with cylinder heads directly taken from a Ford GT supercar, Brembo front brakes and a Tremec 6 speed as standard.

Spend a grand or so on Ford Racing suspension like I did and the handling is transformed.

Slightly more was spent this month and after a whole afternoon's sweat I installed a Stage 2 Performance upgrade from Brenspeed (smaller supercharger pulley adding 4 lbs of boost, larger air intake with conical air filter and a performance tune written for the package and our fuel octane + cooler range plugs) and it's now become a totally mad nutter of a car with around 600 bhp available at any time in any gear with torque that will pull a house down, or pull a street down probably.

However if you are really unwell the engine is reportedly strong enough to take 750 rear wheel horse power and this can be achieved for as little as 5 grand...

Yes I'm well happy!!!

I'll we out another pic.
Here's my 97 GT convertible. I love this car just about as much as the newer one. It's fantastic open air motoring, on a warm summers day, with the V8 burbling away. It's got Flowmaster cat-backs that enhance the V8 rumble nicely smile

I can state that my car (not undersealed anywhere except the rear wheel arches) which is driven as a daily in all weathers is showing no signs of rot or even rust at all.

Early ones had issues with oxidization on the front edge of the hood ( well it is an American car), but I believe this was due to a manufacturing issue
Am sure 300bhp will correct me in a moment
Yeah you are correct, they were supposed to have fixed it in cars that were built in the latter half of '07 but whether they have or not remains to be seen.

A squirt of WD40 (to force the moisture out) followed by Waxoyl slowed it down on my car but in the end it couldn't stop it and I got shut of the stock aluminium hood and replaced it with a fiberglass one.

If were doing gratuitous pics:

After driving one I rated it lower than expected. The interior feels cheap and nasty, as does the Camaro. It made my Scion FR-S feel like a quality product by comparison. However, brakes, handling and steering feel are all surprisingly good.

Back seat is for leg less dwarves. Considering the bulk of the car the space inside is very poor.

It's great value for money in the USA and makes sense on American roads, but not in the UK or most of Europe.

Malc350, what section are your rear tyres? Any trouble getting the power down? Mines a 5.0 Coyote, but as yet unaltered in the engine bay. The Hellion twin turbo kit is apparently good for 1200bhp, but requires stronger internals. They are great cars. Surprisingly chuckable for their bulk too...

What bulk?

You mean a car 2" wider than an M3 makes no sense in European roads.
Really?
Quite so, I don't understand comments like this, if the Mustang is too big for the UK roads then so is every single large saloon created in the last 25 years.

What’s wrong with this:

Sure the interior plastics are hard and lack the faux quality feeling of soft touch plastics that people seem to crave (why I have no idea) but why does anybody care?, who sits there and fondles their car interior and thinks "mmmm squishy", so as long as its screwed together properly (no rattles or squeaks, nothing falling off) then I fail to see the issue.

The leather seats are comfy and its quite easy to have 3 adults inside this car (or four if the driver is not very tall) the only issue for rear seat passengers is the rake of the rear window – if you are over 5’6” you will bang your head on it.

I still don't understand the negative comments on the interior. As a piece of design it's a far nicer looking place than most BMW's or Aldi's.

We've had the tacky/cheap interior.
We've had too big for UK/Europe roads.

Still waiting for beam axle, LHD and cornering ability comments.
