Well, I've heard of it before but never experience it... until the other day.

I was driving early in the morning, 02:00hrs about 5 hr drive through some severe fog, the temp gauge reading an indicated -2degc.

The outside of the windows were freezing up all the way home.
When I parked up this is how the front of the car looked.

I've also never experienced this - always wondered if it was a kind of made-up term.

Happy to be proved wrong!

Been in this once and was the worst conditions I've ever driven in.... though I only drove for less than a mile before I stopped and waited for the weather to turn

Best advice is just follow the sat nav screen if your windscreen freezes up.
