Where have all the enthusiasts gone?
Discussion
Well we are moving house in a few weeks and are running out of time to sort out and pack fast, so today I have the lovely task of sorting out a very full loft, as my wife likes to store everything she doesn't need but can't throw away up there!
I just keep thinking about the extra garage space and inspection pit that I'm going to have, which keeps me smiling in the face of adversity!

How much of an enthusiast do you have to be to know a few basics about the E30 M3?
Can we knock this on the head now. The point has been made.Vladimir said:
So not only are M-lite cars not M, nor are many proper M cars?
So they mustn't have a turbo (that's the E30 M3 out then)...

My name is Kevin, I'm a car enthusiast and....... a car salesman!
Oh, and for the record I couldn't care less how people pay for their cars, just as long as they buy one.
interestingly, there are a lot of people in your role who have little or no interest in cars, which seems a shame. Oh, and for the record I couldn't care less how people pay for their cars, just as long as they buy one.
I am a car enthusiast, owned lots of cars over the years...
Pistonheads has lots of idiots, but plenty of enthusiasts of many shades and colours.
I read and lurk more than I post because that way there is less inclination to get riled by the nonsense.
I spend more time here than anywhere else on the net - much more in winter than in summer -and yes, that does make me a sad man.
Ah well, knowledge is the first step to change.... or not.

I don't appreciate people making a post like this when they are completely guilty of being one of the worst perpetrators
Quite. I had Vladimir down as one of the "waffling goons" as he puts it in his post.I can't make up my mind if he is a troll (although admittedly quite subtle), a hypocrite, or just not the full shilling.
Oh, and by the way, I agree with the OP, just not too sure about its sincerity.
...not read all the posts as I got bored of all the same old BS.. I'm sure there are enthusiasts on here, but like me, they probably start reading what looks like an interesting thread but like this it just ends up being full of bhing with little content about the subject of cars and driving, so I'm guessing like me they decide to just switch off without contributing something worthwhile as it will just get lost in the fking arguments.
I'm not a very regular poster but I have a read of the forums at least once a day, just thought I'd put in my two cents. I'm very much an enthusiast, I drive for pleasure and love almost every journey I take.. just wish I could afford more petrol and be able to spend a bit more on improving my motor!

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your perspective) this site also caters for people like me. I'm more interested in the N&P forum, Music, Homes and Gardens than General Gassing. Cars are (or once were) a pleasure of course, but these days I hate driving. When I do I just want a comfy barge with a decent sound system. Just life I suppose.I'm not a very regular poster but I have a read of the forums at least once a day, just thought I'd put in my two cents. How about 56000+ since September 2008 and he still has time to run a busy pub and be a real enthusiast! 48,400+ posts in 128 months! crumbs! that's nearly 100 a week.. do you work for PH/Haymarket?

Being an enthusiast has little bearing on what at you drive.
My garage is varied and the current vehicle is a tad boring, it's by no means a crap car mind. As said before its the family chariot, good at it too and cheap to run. At the moment I'm still deciding to either run it into the ground or chop it in for something a bit more interesting.
Audi S4 avants can be had for good money these days, loads of interesting choices out there for not a lot of money. I know lots about cars, my mind is a hive of useless car information which to me makes someone an enthusiast.
Fact is, at this time of my life the car I actually drive isn't that important to me, my priorities right now are family, house and getting rid of the mortgage.
Plenty of time for cars.
There is far too many insults about cars and car choices on this site, makes for dissapointing reading sometimes. I can only imagine how spiteful some people must be in real life.
