"new car forces reluctant sale" - OK then, if we must go around the houses, why did you feel the need to buy a new car?

I had to sell my Fiat Coupe turbo, because I got a company car, and my other half wouldn't drive it because it was too powerful.

Luckily a mate bought it, as I'm sure no one would have believed me!

because they might be bored with the one they are selling perhaps?

I don't feel the need to put this in an add. Usually because I've decided that the cars become a liability....

Selling because it's costing me too much? Think I will just continue to leave this out...

Some`interesting answers here. To the chap that says he only had his car a few weeks then sold it, thats fine because you know what you`re selling. I`ve done that too a few times but I still tread with caution and like I say there IS plenty of cases where the reason is genuine obviously but people do jump on the bandwagon.

`Barn find`. There`s a relatively new thing I`ve seen crop up in adverts like it`s some kind of golden nugget of a car. Half the time the seller is the nugget with the dross he`s written.

Anyway, I`m emigrating for the 6th time this year so must sell.

Here`s one. "MUST SELL as bought another car and need cash. May p/x WHY cash either way

Mine is always the same reason. Owned it for 2.5 years and fancy something else.

What are you using to post? Your apostrophes look really odd.

Too many projects on the go.
These are the places with a sthole of a garden with a fence made from old pallets strewn with various other wrecks in a varied state of disasembly, kids toys, excrement and car parts everywhere, usually accompanied by an engine by the front door p1ssing oil out. Vehicle will be described by the owner as a great car once all the parts in the boot are back on and worth a small fortune..

I worked for a main dealer 20 years ago and they had a dozen or so manky trade cars to shift. One option was to trade them for £50 a piece, but the sales manager put an ad in the paper to sell them to customers as trade cars with no warranty etc. The descriptions were: More sticky tape than Jack Duckworth's glasses, This car is a shed, Even we couldn't get this one started, I don't believe anyone will buy this, Only for the brave (old Lancia) etc. They were advertised as being for sale for one day only and we were mobbed. All bar 3 cars were sold on the day. The honesty of the adverts brought folk out, they were encouraged not to buy them, but they were cheap and they had the option of looking at them up on a ramp. Honesty and a sensible price is the best option to sell anything.

My Ex girl-friends' best friend had a Mercedes SLK. She loved it. As a present, and without her knowledge, her husband traded the SLK in and bought her a Porsche 991 C as a surprise present. She refused to drive it in protest and it sat on the drive. A month later he had sold it on (and as it was one of the first in the country he made some money on it too). A new SLK replaced it.

If any man ever finds himself in the position of being forced to sell a car because his girlfriend doesn't like the colour, he's getting rid of the wrong part of the problem.

Sadly I'll be joining this group in the not too distant future. However I wouldn't be putting it in the advert, never understood the need for that. Mine will be the baby excuse, sadly it's not acceptable to put one in the boot of a z4 coupe.
