As title, what direction did it take to cause it's deletion?

(wife) wanted it removed apparently. All we heard was one side of the story.

Ok, didn't seem like there was any reason to expect that, last time I looked ( approx 3pm today ), it all looked fairly innocuous, any idea what prompted it?

Another thread after that one had been deleted suggests that someone contacted the dealer and they gave a different account of what went on.

Yes, I saw someone in the original thread had done that, for reasons best known to himself........I'm still at a loss to understand why that thread no longer exists though. Surely, it's for the good of everyone that the background of that car is known?

Thanks for your replies so far btw, as a prospective R8 owner I thought it was a relevant thread, hence the interest.

I asked in the original thread, now that they had been refunded and the saga was over why they can't reveal the reg or chassis number to help protect any future buyer. (wife) didn't seem to want to answer that particular question.

I've been looking to! The car was first seen with a private plate B8 ### can't remember the last letters.

I'd be interested to hear the sellers side if the story.

I'd like to know how that particular seller seems to attract this type of unwanted attention, with regard to seemingly heavily damaged/repaired cars appearing on their forecourt. It's starting to become repetitive, going by the R8 thread.

Was there much to be different, really?

They bought a car sight-unseen. It turned out not to be what they were expecting - but, considering how glaringly apparent these issues were, they sat on it for a couple of months before raising the issues. The dealer promptly offered a 90%+ refund. Everybody on the thread said "Take it!". The buyer said "No! We know our rights! We shouldn't have to live with the consequences of our poor decisions!". Eventually, after seeking legal opinion, they took it. End of.

With Most things on PH we only heard one side of it. For the OP to have it binned after someone asked the questions we all wanted to know IMHO there was more to the whole story.

As said, it was removed at the OP's request.
