Yes, yes and double yes. One of my friends came really close to buying a car in Oz that looked and was specced almost identically to this. It was insanely loud and really quick - it had run a 12 second quarter. The more I look at this the more I'm certain it's the same car!

These are really popular in the modified scene in Australia as we got them from Mazda and the UK didn't. Bryce Miller is a fairly well-known drag racer - see here for his 8 second rx3:
