M3/C63 back to back conclusion, EVO:

That is interesting thanks, I haven't driven a C63 so can't comment but I have read that it is more of a handful & more lairy but maybe in reality it isn't then, I have always thought of the M3 as super sharp & the C63 a little rough around the edges but in a good way & more suited to what I like from a car.

I just don't understand the love you have for the S65 when the engine under the bonnet of your car has more in common with my old X5 & I found the engine in that far more rewarding for more of the time than the S65 was.

Interestingly enough the S65 makes the same power as the 4.8s max power at 6300rpm, peak torque is available only 500rpm sooner in 4.8s

Given the weight advantage of the e92 you'd only have to rev to say 5k to keep up with a maxed out 4.8s

I never expected the X5 to be any quicker but I just mean I just liked the engine far better in my X5 than I did in my M3 the V8 in the M3 doesn't even sound like a V8 for a start & it always felt like you were riding a nice wave of torque in the X5 whereas the M3 is just about high revs.

Technically I probably talk out my backside & I appreciate that but I got more personal reward from the 4.8 that is all but the M3 still has a great engine it just never really lit my fire.
