I agree the chassis & grip are excellent on the M3 & it gives the driver massive confidence but on the flip side it can be very predictable whereas on the other hand the C63 would be more exciting as its more of a challenge to drive.
I'd have thought that C63 would be a hairy, lairy animal of a thing to conquer as well, EVO disagree.M3/C63 back to back conclusion, EVO:
"For point-to-point pace the M3 easily matches the Merc but, more than that, it feels special doing it – accurate, agile, finely balanced, biddable – where the Merc is merely accomplished. In short, the M3 is sharper, cuts deeper and will keep you hooked for longer."

I understand its a very well designed engine & offers reward if you can be bothered to rev its backside off but given the choice of the V8 4.8 from my old X5 4.8iS or the V8 from my E92 M3 I would prefer the V8 4.8 from my X5 under the bonnet of the M3.
I just don't understand the love you have for the S65 when the engine under the bonnet of your car has more in common with my old X5 & I found the engine in that far more rewarding for more of the time than the S65 was.
Interestingly enough the S65 makes the same power as the 4.8s max power at 6300rpm, peak torque is available only 500rpm sooner in 4.8s I just don't understand the love you have for the S65 when the engine under the bonnet of your car has more in common with my old X5 & I found the engine in that far more rewarding for more of the time than the S65 was.
Given the weight advantage of the e92 you'd only have to rev to say 5k to keep up with a maxed out 4.8s
Technically I probably talk out my backside & I appreciate that but I got more personal reward from the 4.8 that is all but the M3 still has a great engine it just never really lit my fire.
