A rival to the jazz is the nissan note which comes in 1.6 auto. The engine is a nissan engine with a chain driven cam and the box is a traditional torque converter auto so not the most economical but very reliable.
Loads come off motability at 3 years old,i paid in the price bracket listed for a 10000 mile auto in metallic red,38 to the gallon in town, think i'll keep it as long as it's viable.

Nearly spat my tea out, reading that quickly I'm sure I saw an F at the end of mil.

Just a thought, looking at auto's for the ex's mother some time ago, Jazz & Micras were obvious choices to me to replace her Metro Auto but once she sat in a Rover 100 she was made up, no amount of convincing otherwise would change her mind.

Your Gran may be happy with another Corsa particularly if the 'sales experience' is better. The mix of car familiarity and a pleasent salesman got the sale - sorry if this is the piston head answer.

Remapped 335D - brilliant.

Cheap to run and automatic
Good shout , but won't someone in their late 80s suffer with the new technology and also range anxiety ?

4 years ago I bought a 6 month old one for my wife and we have no plans to change it.
