Cherished plate transfer

Hi,

If I buy a plate from someone that they hold on retention, do I then have to pay the £100 fee to put this number plate on my car or has that already been paid by them ?

There's usually a change over fee

You'll not have to pay the transfer fee as £80 of the £105 retention fee paid is the transfer fee.

You will have to pay £25 to be added as a nominee to the retention in order to apply it to your car, assuming you weren't added when it was retained.
