maintaining these cars will be a bh for collectors...I don't think you will source these batteries so easily in 2030+
2 things1 - they're just lithium-ion batteries - same as your laptop (assuming you have a decent laptop!)
2 - I cannot imagine we'll ever not have 'things you can put electric into and then get it out again'
Of course they may be MUCH smaller, MUCH lighter, MUCH more powerful by then - and they'll just plug straight in because electricity isn't going to change anymore than air is, is it?
ALSO - didn't McLaren (rather against their will, I suspect) effectively build a completely new F1 for Rowan Atkinson - I don't think you need worry too much - hope you didn't avoid ordering just over that issue!?

you could get petrol 100 years after now at very similar prices corrected for inflation, I'm willing to bet on this
I might take that bet - but I know for 100% damn certainty that we'll be storing/generating 'electricity' in/from something long after we've stopped using fossil-fuels of any kind...Petrol is a very specific product, it's popularity came-about as much by companies using bribery and coercion as by by being the 'best possible solution' and for a long time it's been a nasty compromise we just got stuck with - one day we'll unstick from it.
In 2013, the UK bought less petrol than in 2012 - that's NEVER happened before - it's starting...

I've watched this vid three times now, and - IMVHO - it will be the definitive and pivotal impartial test of a game-changing "hyper" car. Harris / Neil / PH / Drive should be rightly proud of producing such a mesmerising film of what is clearly a sea-change in performance cars.
The performance is clearly galactic, and it looks sensational in black. Would I have one? Given the income from the investment portfolio of Peter Jones? Christ almighty, , but I'd have to have the 918 and the LaF as well. P1 for the ability, 918 for the tech, and LaF for the sound and the looks.

Those two coat hanger hooks in the exhaust tip at 19.50 in that nobody noticed.
Looks like a device for igniting the exhaust gases to me.
Unless your P1 comes with those it won't make flames like it does in the video.
Great for making the P1 the hypercar of choice in the school yard but, really, does such an incredible car need such embellishment?
