Tyreleader.co.uk seem ridiculously cheap for Vreds.. why?,..
Discussion
Hello
looking to get a new rear set of 265/30/19 for the Beemer and have found Vredistein Ultra Sessanta for £140 here!
http://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyres/vredestein/u...
what the catch? the seconded cheapest I have found are camskills at £165.10?!
the only thing that concerns me is the DOT 2010, ie they were made in 2010 and are 4 years old, does that really matter?
anyone had any experience of tyreleader.co.uk?

I'm being dim - where is the datestamp mentioned?
The dot 2010 means the date I believe?Or have I got that wrong?
I wouldn't, tyres degrade over time.

The following is half remembered, but you'll get the idea.
Google can give you specifics.
Half of western Europe has laws about not selling older tyres.
Some say 3 years, some 6.
So older tyres become worthless in some markets.
These are then sold on and shifted to countries without tyre age laws.
Old tyres are often OK if stored properly.
But, if they are stored badly the do degrade.
Chances are that old cheap tyres have been stored badly - that's just based on spider-sense; not on any proof.
I've experienced old tyre failure at speed on the M1.
I make sure I'm getting decent tyres these days.

Hi all
Just a warning about Tyreleader to those looking to buy from them. Beware of their cancellation costs / fees!
Ordered some tyres but cancelled them via their online ticketing system shortly after ordering as realized I had made a mistake in ordering them. I received no response from their online ticketing system despite it being within their so called office hours then 24 hours later get notification the tyres had shipped so followed their terms and conditions and refused delivery from the courier for the tyres I did not want. This company is now trying to charge me £25 per tyre as a fee for returning something which I cancelled and did not accept delivery for which is actually about 75% of the cost I paid including delivery originally for 4 tyres which is NOT stated anywhere on their web site or in their terms and conditions.
I have now paid £100 and have NO tyres!!!

This is the kind of stuff I do as well; ordering stuff that is the wrong size or useless for the job, usually the company has the same kind of crazy return policy as well. Thanks for the heads up and be careful ordering tyres people!Just a warning about Tyreleader to those looks to buy from them. Beware of their cancellation costs / fees!

I've just ordered from them - the prices are absolutely excellent - nobody else can get close. All of the local places I called claimed they were 'below cost price' and 'couldn't get near them' (I don't get this - surely the sensible business owner would look to order from tyreleader or similar if they really are 'below cost'. I'd have paid £20-£25 a tyre more if it included fitting and didn't involve me having to faff around with deliveries, so why not just add £25 a tyre to the tyreleader price and order them as a garage, instant £100 profit for doing not much on 4 tyres). Just had notification they have shipped already - seems ok so far.
As for the £25 cancellation fee, I cannot see how that is legal under EU law anyway - the same distance selling rules apply as would if they were UK based?

I agree their prices can't be beaten but price isn't everything as I have learned and I hope others don't suffer the same extortion they are trying to force on me. For reference they are trying to charge me £25 PER TYRE for cancelling my order shortly after I placed it via their online ticketing system which equals £100 on the 4 tyres I originally paid £149 including delivery for when we refused their delivery as their own terms and conditions said we should do!Gassing Station | Suspension, Brakes & Tyres | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
