For reference they are trying to charge me £25 PER TYRE for cancelling my order shortly after I placed it via their online ticketing system which equals £100 on the 4 tyres I originally paid £149 including delivery for when we refused their delivery as their own terms and conditions said we should do!
Did you get different Ts&Cs to me? Its quite clear in the ones they sent me that if you order the wrong ones then you're on the hook for shipping whereas if they send the wrong ones (or they're damaged) you should refuse delivery:Tyreleader said:
The customers are ultimately responsible to ensure the selected product is adapted to their vehicles. CP REIFEN TRADING GMBH will not cover the return shipping costs in case of incompatibility.
<snip>
Customers have to make sure the goods delivered correspond to their orders and that they have not been damaged during shipping. If one of these two situations should arise, the customer must report the problem to the carrier and refuse delivery.
I can understand why you'd be pissed off about being £100 down but if you ordered the wrong tyres in the first place you're not exactly blameless.<snip>

I used them recently to buy some winter steels. The wheels were very cheap - half the price of what the dealer was charging. Negative point is that they put only a piece of cardboard separating the rims, which wore through and the paint came off the outside of each one. As they are only winter wheels I wasn't too bothered and just repainted them, but if they had been alloys I wouldn't have been happy.

The OP's Vreds don't seem particularly cheap considering that depending who you ask they may be two thirds into their usable life (many people advocate changing tyres when they reach six years old)
They aren't. My brother has just bought Vredestien cheaper on camskil and got next day delivery.

No I'm not trying to say I'm blameless however I tried to cancel my order as soon as I realised my mistake like on any other online shop I have ever used however due to them only having an online ticketing system, cancelling is virtually impossible as they seemingly don't respond until after despatch leaving you on the hook with this unknown return fee. If the cancellation / return fee was stated clearly in their terms and conditions e.g. £25 per tyre etc then I don't think I would have ordered in the first place for some cheapies or at worst I would have just taken delivery and resold them. I also actually offered to pay £25 towards the postage costs however this was rejected so I'm having to go down the route of disputing things with my credit card company which others who have since contacted me have had to do apparently (chargeback?) so will see where that leads. Hopefully my posts will prevent someone else having such a shock when trying to amend / cancel an order with this company in the future at the very least.geordieandy said:
Hi all
Just a warning about Tyreleader to those looking to buy from them. Beware of their cancellation costs / fees!
Ordered some tyres but cancelled them via their online ticketing system shortly after ordering as realized I had made a mistake in ordering them. I received no response from their online ticketing system despite it being within their so called office hours then 24 hours later get notification the tyres had shipped so followed their terms and conditions and refused delivery from the courier for the tyres I did not want. This company is now trying to charge me £25 per tyre as a fee for returning something which I cancelled and did not accept delivery for which is actually about 75% of the cost I paid including delivery originally for 4 tyres which is NOT stated anywhere on their web site or in their terms and conditions.
I have now paid £100 and have NO tyres!!!
I see your putting this on as many car forums as possible.Just a warning about Tyreleader to those looking to buy from them. Beware of their cancellation costs / fees!

On the flipside I ordered a set of Federal 595 RSRs in the summer for £72 each, which is a huge saving per tyre, arrived within 3 days, no complaints at all from me.
They list the manufacturing date on their listing if they are not new. Tyres do not last me more than a year so it wouldn't be an issue, but the ones I bought for much, much less than I could get here are not new old stock. And at just over £300 delivered for a pair of 275 35 18 when a lot of places here couldn't get them, I don't think I've done too bad.
I used these for my Federal 595 RSR's in 225/40/18, £90ish a corner. Brilliant tyre, brilliant service from Tyre Leader and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
As for cancellation fees, pay more attention when ordering? If you're spending a few hundred quid on tyres surely you check the order properly before paying up?
