Was so looking forward to this car, the Gallardo replacement, but this leaves me cold.

The front is nice, an evolution of the old car, but the back is just bland. No character at all.

This car could've and should've looked like the Sesto Elemento.

I guess I'd need to see the spyder version before writing it off completely though.
Agreed. Another underwhelming new car from Lamborghini as far as I'm concerned
I agree, it appears from the photos there is no flair in the design. Its too solid. The wheels appear to be from Audi models too.

The 458 Italia is beautiful and combines delicacy with muscularity very successfully, whilst this appears just too simple in its design language.

Perhaps in the flesh it will be better as Dan says. I look forward to seeing one.

Unlike some I like this. It's a better design than the Gallardo.
Reggiani sounds like he, how can I put this nicely, over-states things!
For example Reggiani says it's not an Audi developed or shared transmission

Hmmmmm. biggrin

As Reggiani is proud to point out rivals - he singles out the tech heavy 12C in particular - depend on (relatively) time consuming calculations to calibrate their systems and can only ever be reactive whereas the Huracan is constantly thinking for itself.

A CPU THAT THINKS FOR ITSELF AND ISN'T DEPENDENT ON CALCULATIONS?! WOW IT'S LIKE SKYNET! WE MUST KILL IT BEFORE THE HURRACAN BECOMES SELF AWARE, DRIVES ITSELF TO SPA AND RUNS OVER EVERY SPEED CAMERA ON THE WAY! biggrin

I think Reggiani asks the engineers questions then his brain re-writes the answers so the car sounds AMAZING! He doesn't need to do that because it's an over 600hp, over 200mph V10 supercar from Lambor-freaking-ghini...
No one is going to be slightly disappointed because the 12C uses an adaptive damping system that is a fraction of a second slower to react but technically superior! No need to BS Reggiani!

It also means that Lambo will be picking up the bills for any crashes as it won't be down to driver error but the pre-emotive CPU guessing incorrectly what was about to happen. biggrin

To be honest, I think that it's really just an Italian reading out German facts so basically not really understanding and making a lot of st up. My money is on him also waving his hands around a lot to assist in the flow of flamboyant drivel.

Still, having said that, I find the Lambo brand far more exciting than any other Italian brand because of all the bks they speak, the arm waving etc.

This Lambo is the latest supercar to have and makes the Mac and 458 look boring in comparison

Not really sold on any of it. Exterior styling is a bit boring IMO and the vents on the interior look stupid. Can't deny it's quick though!
How should the vents look? Embedded into a slab of (leather covered, if it's posh) plastic like every other fking car on the planet?

I hate the internet. I hate people on the internet. I hate myself for being on the internet.

Being a bit harsh there ☺
It's a forum, we all have opinions & looks are subjective aren't they?

I agree with DanBMW on both counts. The styling is a continuation of the wedge theme we've been seeing for years on various cars. Note previous Lotus posts.
I believe a Lambo should be outrageous and futuristic and sadly I don't see that in this car.

Loving this, the hardware sounds the ticket and I reckon it's the best looking new supercar I've seen in some time.

Looks good but those pictures look so fake, like they have not got an actual finished car and have photo shopped them or something. Bit weird.

I like it, slmodt a tame looking lambo compared to some recent variants, although, compared to other supercars, still very extreme looking. I defo like it.

Hello, Lamborghini? Lotus called - they want the new Esprit back....
In fairness at least Lamborghini are actually building new cars, the Esprit has been in development forever, and lotus seem to forever go from one turnaround plan to another

Last i heard, there going to focus on existing models, which is what they've been doing since the Elise, so we might get 1 new car in the next 15 years if were lucky

How sad, we really have lost Lamborghini madness to Audi's iron fist!

Wait for new R8 buy a 99p ebay lambo badge and save half the money!

It essentially does look exactly like what the new Esprit should look like, but i think it is one of the top 3 Lambos ever designed!

I've heard that before but don't really agree. Sure, they've made some wild OTT stuff like eighties Countach and the late Diablo cars previously, but they've done quite edgy designs like the Reventon and Aventador since Audi.

Their classic motors are exotic but tastefully done, just look at the Muira, 400GT, Islero, Jarama, etc. Even the early Countach was a clean looking shape.

I reckon this Huracan is spot on.

Glad to know I'm not the only one thinking that a Lamborghini is now an expensive Audi just like an Audi is an expensive VW and a VW is an expensive Skoda. I'll wait for the Skoda version thanks... ;-)

It's a natural progression from the Gallardo in terms of styling (i.e. pretty and simple), but when the Aventador is absolute sex on wheels you can't help but be a little disappointed!
I agree. I think it still looks great but hasn't matched the beauty and awe of the Aventador (not that it was meant to be at that level). I just feel that, IMO, this looks good but not sexual and awe inspiring.

Stop whinging, if you want Mad Lambo save up and buy an Aventador. That's also why the non-V12's don't have 'Lambo doors' either...

Shame about no manual though.

Saw it yesterday in Geneva - love it!

Heaven knows how they get it past the pedestrian impact regs as the front end is VERY low. Deployable bonnet I expect?

"Right on cue we walk past an Aventador, stripped back to show off its carbon tub, onboard dampers and monstrous V12 motor."

I can't ignore it anymore. You mean "inboard" dampers.
