Good lord no, the engine generates 500+lbft of torque going through 2 wheels of course the electronics will be going mental!

Best looking and sounding estate currently available!

I would like mine with a tow bar, so I can tow my track car to the track in style and speed!

I can't see that, but I do think that Jaguar's current advertising campaign showing the standard XF from a square side-on view with tiny wheels makes it look as much like a modern Vauxhall as it possibly could. Not sure what they were thinking there as the car looks great to me in the metal.

Virtually unsilenced V8? The saloon I had for two weeks was far quieter than the equivalent AMG, I'd say it was too silenced in fact.

Does this mean the wagon has a new system?

Apologies; 550hp of course, copy corrected in line with spec box, which was right from off.

And unsilenced? OK, possibly a slight over dramatisation but both this and the saloon have straight through pipes in the centre section compared with the silenced ones of the -R. As our man from Jag had it anyway.

I think it's only right and proper that Jag supply Team Sky with a special 'TV' spec exhaust like AMG does with the F1 safety car. Gotta be done, right?

Cheers,

Dan

Could have the Audi plus £5k worth of extras, plus I think the Audi would be worth more in the long term. But, colour is fab, nothing like a bit of Riviera Blue (or very similar), looks very nice and nothing wrong with buying British these days, even though quite a bit comes-in from abroad.

I love evrything about this apart from the price, you would be mad to choose it over the RS6!

Wonder why it has 'Jaguar' under the leaper on the tailgate. No other XF has that and I thought Jag were trying to get away from having 'Jaguar' on the boot, just the leaper.

The F-Type and CX17 have it, so i guess everything else will soon.

And only last year I read an interview with the top man at Jaguar saying the exact opposite, they wanted to just have the leaper!

Ah well, no big deal, I just think it looks cleaner with just the leaper tbh.

You've got the wrong merc AMG. The standard E-class AMG is around £75k and unless you really go crazy with the options and spec things like carbon brakes it won't go much over 80k. It's a bit difficult to compare things like driving/sport packs because they haven't been compared back to back so no point saying it will go way past 82k with all the options.

Seems as though there is consensus with respect to the colour and the wheels.

Bright Cobalt blue and "Max Power" wheels have no place on any Jag .....it just looks wrong.

Aston Martin are guilty of pandering to the same blingy ethos.

Both should be much more considered in choice of hue and shiny stuff.

Looks like old news compared to E63 and RS6 offerings. £83k is insane money.

Those Sky drivers must be pretty bad if they need 500 odd bhp to keep up with a push bike ,I'd be willing to give it a go with the auto Mondeo engined one.
Why have Jaguar chosen to make it look like a provincial mini cab , just needs a 'No booking,no ride ' sticker below the door sign.

Ahead of its official unveiling at the Palexpo tomorrow Jaguar let us have a quick go with the XFR-S Sportbrake, but not until we'd earned it with a bit of a pedal on Team Sky style Pinarellos to properly get into character. PH - lycra matters
Lycra matters?? Poor choice of words considering he many pages written in the pedal powered section discussing the PH cycling jerseys!

The jag looks great.

Awesome motor, really like the look of these - they had the saloon version, in this colour, in Union Square (local shopping mall) last week and it looked amazing, I even thought the rear spoiler, which I thought was a bit much in the pictures, looked good.

I like the colour, but wouldn't own one in it, a dark, understated colour please, dark grey or black.

Black with a light interior and some less gaudy wheels (I'd also suggest ditching the rear privacy glass - practical but all a bit private ambulance) and you'd have a proper sportbrake...
