That really is BS, IMO. The simple reason why "enthusiasts simply can't get the cars we'd like any more" as you put it, is because there aren't enough of us around to make such cars sustainable. Taking the global marketplace into account, the unit sales are just not enough for a maker like BMW. They have shareholders to satisfy and employees to pay - making more manual M5's at the expense of a blinded up X6 is a sure fire way to go bust. I don't like it, but it is the way it is. Don't blame BMW.
You've missed the point entirely. BMW (and other manufacturers) will build what sells. - The problem is that there are too many magpies with no understanding of anything to do with cars apart from how much they can show-off in them buying the damn things.

But people probably look at you in your car and judge you in the same way you judge others.

It obviously really bothers you if someone likes something you don't! hehe

Why should I care? They probably know the square root of nothing about them.

In all seriousness, I only care when others' choices dictate what's available to me. - If it didn't affect me, I couldn't care less if someone wants to drive around in a car painted bright pink, shaped like a turd and with a murkin for a mascot. Whatever makes them happy. smile

Doesn't mean I can't poke fun though. wink

If you can't stand the heat...

For the record, I do understand why someone would choose an SUV as an everyday car...but the current trend for building the biggest pile of blinged-up junk possible (and I'm not just talking about SUVs) is having a detrimental effect on manufacturers, meaning that us enthusiasts simply can't get the cars we'd like any more.

So the X6 shrank in the was , a bit, big deal. It might look better with big tyre , not large wheels.
When are the tyre companies going to produce the V rated real off-road tyre, i know it defies the laws of physics but we need them.

Just seen one of these on the ferry to hull.
Msport diesel in white with 19s.
But it was xdrive (can you get 2wd) and at least it was a 3.0 d
Actually quite nice. The shrinkage from the x6 works better as it's not quite so in your face vulgar ( not judging, that can be a positive or a negative)
Might have a pic in a mo as we pass in the queue...

Specsavers.

Honestly, these things are beyond dire. Ugly, ungainly. They make the X6 look like a work of automotive art.

I don't mind them, kind of like the fact they have a little exclusivity over the common X3.

Completely agree. The lack of functionality (off road performance and capacity) makes it useless as a 4x4 and it's ugly enough to turn milk. You'd be infinitely better off with a 3-Series Touring.
