Another grotesque misshapen motor to add to the list.

Just what's needed.

I really wish they would stop.

BMW have diluted their brand too much IMO
They used to be a brand a lot of people aspired too.

Now they're just a.n.other car company
Indeed they have , they bore me to tears

adding 6 inches of metal between wheel arch and glasshouse of a (very) normal car does not count as car design.
Thats what BMW did all the way through the 80's...worked pretty well IMO

I think this picture summarizes everything that is wrong with it. So much details without any explainable meaning.

Its alright. IMO.

Better looking than the current X3. Which looks like I designed it.

Horrible, horrible machine. I hate them all. X6, X5, X3 and especially the Q7. Terrible vehicles.

FAO BMW - Please give a job designing your cars. Either that or a 2 year old kid. We could do much, much better.

I almost feel a bit dirty saying it....but I rather like it and I'm not a fan of SUVs as a general rule.

It's ugly and pointless, but sales figures speak for themselves. Far from losing it, BMW is coining it.
Yeah, I kind of meant more in terms of destroying their own brand.

I'm sure they'll sell plenty because its what the middle classes aspire to.

As a car this design conecpt is becoming a bit boring - design a platform and build as many different boidies on it as possible.

Zzzzzzz...!

That's a good point. Like the "air exit" on the wing of the new 4 series. And all of the black plastic styling crap like the Msport bumper on my E91, designed to look like a venturi I guess (the aerodynamic device, not the French sportscar!)

Look at that big plastic insert on the "air intake" at each side of the bumper, what a load of bo!$ocks!

But they're not, any more than Porsche is with the Cayenne, Panamera and Macan. They still produce great M cars (whatever moans there are about synthetic engine noise) and innovative cars, like the i3 and i8.

They are simply chasing the Audi market of morons who only look at how bling or superior it makes them look.

An automotive handbag/manbag if you will.

Agreed, BMW are more successful at satisfying automotive needs of their mega customer portfolio than ever before. And there are more converts to BMW than ever before, with few deserters.

The M135i, M235i, 1M are recent successes & the new M3/M4 will set a new benchmark in a market space they have owned for decades.

Ignoring the "ugly stick" comments which I truly don't understand, the X6 is a remarkable car. It seems to suffer from JC not liking it and everyone jumping on the same bandwagon. The rear window may slope, but so do all coupes. If viewed as a coupe with superb visibility, great handling and obscene power it just makes sense.
I'm not with you on the handling part, there is a difference between 'grip' and 'handling'. As an example, There is a video somewhere (If I remember rightly) of an MK1 MX5 setting faster laps than an ML63AMG on a twisty track. Weight will always have an impact on direction change and agility.

It'll age badly. There's no beauty in it what-so-ever. It's ostentatious, vulgar and will no doubt be bought by those looking for a badge to put on their driveway.

The 5 Series is a fantastic car and I don't see what this or the X6 has over it in any respect what-so-ever.
