I have recently used C4U for the second time and again as the first time they were brilliant, made it so easy, my Advisor was Theo and he was brilliant.

Fantastic company to use, dont be put off by the comments some make on here.

And no I dont work for them, just a happy customer.

However the GAP insurance they offered me was about 3x as expensive as I found elsewhere, so shop around.
Hi Luke,

Thanks for sharing your experience of using our service. I’m really glad you were happy enough with our services the first time that we could help you again. Hopefully we can help with your next one too wink

Sorry to hear that you found our GAP insurance expensive though. I’ve passed on your comment to our insurance team to find out why this might be.

Thanks,
Dani

I still do not quite get what CL4U would give me over moneysupermarket and the like comparison site for loans?

Possibly I have missed the point...
Hi Davey,

Many of our lenders do not offer finance directly to consumers which means that a lot of the deals we can offer are not available to customers through price comparison websites. This is the reason why on a lot of comparison websites, including moneysupermarket.com, you’ll find that our website is often recommended for car finance deals.

As everyone’s circumstances are different we don’t provide a list of deals based on basic details provided. We match each customer’s individual profile to our lenders requirements and find the best deal that they are able to be approved for. Every customer is also assigned a personal advisor who becomes their right-hand man throughout the entire car buying process. So the whole process is:

• Apply online and get a quote (see the Finance page for more info: http://www.pistonheads.com/car-finance ).
• We’ll match you with a lender.
• Find the car you want.
• We’ll do a history check for you and give you guidance on what you should be paying (if you need it).
• We’ll pay the loan direct to the seller.
• We’ll sort out all the paperwork.
• You're not charged for our services.

I hope this helps – let me know if there's anything else I can clarify.

Thanks,
Dani

Had some experience a while ago dealing with these, they couldn't have been more helpful at the time to be honest. Only reason I didn't do business with them was the car at the time was classed as too old to be able to offer a loan on (S15 Nissan Silvia)

I doubt you were there at the formation of the company, but "Car Loan 4U"? Didn't they realise that a name like that is marmite? And that it will put off some people from using the company?
On a separate note, I do also think there is a lot to be said for Marmite though - They've been around for 112 years meaning there's been 11 decades of enough lovers who've kept on buying it smile
Excellent come back smile

Phones 4 U are doing alright for themselves as well.

Avoiding a company just because it has '4 U' in the name is the most ridiculously snobby thing I've ever heard.

Exactly - such snobbery is ridiculous.

However I don't need a loan as I have plenty of savings in my Coutts "4 da yoof" account.

Respect.

Thought I'd post some feedback since I've just completed a car purchase financed by CL4U.

Whole process was pretty painless, only hiccup was the morning I was due to test drive the car I've now bought my adviser was on a late start and it took 3 or 4 phone calls chasing before I got a call back from someone else.

That aside, it was a positive experience. Paperwork was all done over the phone / e-mail, dealer paid directly and now I just have to pick up the car tomorrow biggrin

Thanks for sharing your experience Dan. I'm really pleased to hear that you found our team helpful! Sorry we weren't able to help you get the S15 Nissan Silvia that you wanted but I hope you were able to obtain funding for it elsewhere.

Just to clarify for other PHers, there is no maximum age limit on the vehicles Car Loan 4U can help you to finance. It simply depends on which of our lenders are able to help you. Some lenders don't have an age restriction on the car or bike you can buy. Other lenders require that vehicles are less than 10 years old. So, if you're looking to buy a classic, or older car or bike, we may be able to help.

Thanks,
Dani

Hi Oilslick,

Thank you for posting your feedback smile Sorry you had to call us a few times on the morning of your test drive but I'm really pleased to hear that you had a positive, easy experience overall. Can I ask, how did you find your advisor? Have you picked up your car now? Are you happy with it?

Thanks,
Dani

Interesting to see this evolve, on the one hand, PH has to be paid for and the classifieds help, in order for them to continue to help then they have to offer what other car selling sites offer, and unlike other sites it's good to have a point where you can ask questions and have direct contact.

On the other hand, the hostility towards finance companies from some posters shows just how little trust many of us have in finance companies these days.

Finally, I agree with the people who have commented on the name, I mean seriosuly "Car Loan 4 U" sounds like some dodgy Nigerian scammer's web link from the latest spam e-mail.

"Oh hello sir, I call you from Car Loan 4 U, I give you excellent deal because we have too many BMW in Nigeria, now if you could just give me your account details and I will send you brand new BMW M3 on container ship tomorrow"

ETA - well done on keeping your cool and giving good, detailed reasoned responses though Dani! smile

If you're looking for a loan to buy a £1500 car surely you can't afford a car at all ?!
Do you use the same rationale with respect to houses ?

Thanks very much Richard smile As mentioned I’m happy to answer any questions anyone has about Car Loan 4U and our services. So, PHers should feel free to ask away by posting on this thread or sending me a private message and I’ll reply as soon as possible.

With regards to our name, (as also mentioned previously) I understand since everyone’s opinion on a name is subjective but we do what it says on the tin. We help you (our customers) to get a car loans. I have passed on everyone’s comments on this thread about our brand name to our team.

For the information of all PHers, Car Loan 4U offices, where all of our partners are based, are in Macclesfield, Cheshire. We pride ourselves on providing our customers with consistently exceptional service and guarantee that we will never outsource any of our customer services abroad.

Thanks,
Dani

A house is nearly always an appreciating asset. A £1500 car will almost certainly be scrap by the time the poor owner has paid the loan off. I am sure that there are laws regarding responsible lending. Some people need saving from their own stupidity.
If someone needs to borrow £1500 to purchase a runabout let them get on with it, I say. They might need it for a perfectly good reason, and be a bit short also for a perfectly good reason.

If you don't know the facts, why preach?

Peoples circumstances and priorities are different for everybody. If the lender is fair and makes a profit I have no problem with that. But how do you protect people who can't afford to run a car never mind buying one.How many cars are not taxed uninsured driving around? There must be plenty.

Hi Foppo, All of our lenders are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. This means that they are subject to rules in relation to responsible lending and assessing the creditworthiness of a customer.

Dani

I nearly used Car Loans 4 U, but ended up going with a different lender. Mainly as the person dealing with me wasn't too helpful, amounts kept changing and kept needing more and more info.
Could have been my less than perfect credit history, but the other lender I found was much more helpful and had money paid within a day to the dealer, after laying it our straight away as to what they needed from me. Made it a much more pleasant experience.

Hi Tim, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I'm sorry and really concerned to hear that you didn't find our advisor helpful. As mentioned in previous posts, providing exceptional customer service is of paramount importance to us. To date, you are the first customer who has fed back to me that they didn't find our team helpful. Therefore, I'd like to investigate the service you received from us further as a matter of urgency. Please could you email me with your full name, date of birth and post code so that I can locate your application records?

Thanks,
Dani

I just looked at your website. I tried the chat window. I waited 2 minutes and no response so gave up.

I then called the 03.. number. I pressed 1 and spoke to Lucy. I asked if I could finance a car I already own. She said no because the money is sent to the dealer. I asked about buying cars off private individuals and she said that would work because the money is sent to the individual selling the car. So then I asked if you could send the money to me as I already own the car and again she said no.
