Cant blame them when 90% of the world drives on the other side. We are firmly the odd ones in that respect.

It's coming along, Mickk.

The 500 is now completely stripped, I've had her converted from LHD to RHD. There's a reconditioned 650 engine and box waiting to be installed. The car's currently in the body shop having been taken back to the bare metal and will be repainted in Avorio Chiaro and pinstriped with Mrs Blib's motif by Christmas. The pinstriper is the guy who did the Wheeler Dealers green Cadillac. (The petrol tank is going to be painted in the Tricolore).

Then, a completely new bespoke leather interior (again with Mrs B's motif). I'm going to exchange the front seats to reclining, 126 items. I have a new loom to fit and new burgundy sun roof. New carpet throughout and new whitewall tyres. I'm fitting electronic ignition with a pushbutton starter. New soundproofing, rear seat belts and a few other things that I can't remember off the top of my head.

And to think, when I bought the car back in January, I was just going to give it a wash and polish and hand it over.

I may have got very slightly carried away.

Oh yes. She hasn't got a clue about the car.

We live near Classic Chrome in Mortlake. They always have two or three classic 500s in stock and Mrs Blib always takes time to drool over each one whenever we pass.

Recently, while standing outside the CC showroom, I've taken to telling her how impractical a 500 would be and that we've missed the boat, price wise. That they no longer offer 'value for money'. How their 16BHP 500cc engine wouldn't be enough to keep up with London traffic. Basically, anything that I can think of to put a downer on the little things.

Nevertheless, whatever I say she still insists that, "One day I will buy one. So there!!!". Before stomping off defiantly.

Next May is going to be such fun, when I hand her the keys on her mumblemumble birthday.

I got 'sandwiched' on the M1 today by a black C63 AMG and a white CLK63 AMG. OMG, the noise - I want one so much.

Yes worth a mention. I wanted a C63 estate (got an Audi instead) and LOVE the CLK black.
