No pics, but I followed a P1 through sandhurst/college town yesterday evening, it looked magnificent. No pics as I could t get my phone out my pocket, I think the reg was P1 XXT. It was all black, it had a real road presence but didn't sound too loud when I put the window down. I sometimes get stuck behind a Monaro in the industrial estate in Yorktown and I can here that with my windows up!

I'm not doubting you're knowledge, assuming you're correct but how can you tell the spec from just

an orange corner ?

599 GTO such a good looking car. But has this one been specced in the only way it could ever be called ugly. Some achievement.

The plate doesn't recover the rank spec.

First F40 I've seen in a while in Chessington, Surrey.
I actually just came on to post about a Yellow F40 which passed me on the opposite side of the motorway when I was stuck in traffic. It was swiftly followed by a Hurracan and the sight made the jam a little more bearable.

No it's not it's a modified road car

Easy way to spot the real thing is they have an extra (third) naca duct in the sill. The replicas never have this. A real one would also have plexi side windows.

The wing is an easy mod you just unbolt the original and put the replica LM wing between the endplates. Another giveaway between a replica and a real LM is a real LM would have a supporting spar in the center of the rear clam where the numberplate would normally go. The wing puts that much pressure on the rear clam at speed the clam would bend without the extra support. The replicas never have it.

There's lots of other ways to spot the difference like the gurney flap at the back, fixed headlights, various race paraphernalia like recovery points and air line connections and some pretty obvious differences if you look through the rear window but you can't see any of those from that pic.

They were actually 19 official factory built Michelotto LMs with 5 further GTE's there's also 27 further non official privater LM's

For reference a real LM
Thanks for that, that's quite interesting, I didn't know any of that.

Plus, that picture is fantastic.

Indeed mate, at The Phoenix Pub.

Love the 599 GTO, the plate is amazing, couldn't get any better.

Well the front light washer tells me it's a non-LP Gallardo. The carbon fibre wing mirror and door card (see the flat edge in the window) plus alcantara dashboard are the giveaway. There's a darker area in the reflection which could be the telltale stripe but it could also be a shadow, small child, large rodent etc! biggrin

Looks like it's going to gumball too. Either that or it's leased by some company as a promo vehicle and is stickered up as a tax dodge.

Think I've seen that car before and its owned by the chap who has a business called 'Time Tailor' that do bespoke high end watches - the car is covered in a wrap promoting said business.
