Supercars spotted, some rarities (vol 6)
Discussion
Super-rare '02 plated E38 BMW "ALPINA M745i" spotted yesterday on Hawley Lane, Farnborough.
Driven like a doofus, too. Got shirty with me because he stopped to give way to me at a mini roundabout, but I couldn't go because I needed to give way to three cars approaching rapidly from my right. He then took off like a scalded cat, yet by the time we reached the A325 I'd caught up to him despite sticking to the 30mph limit. He was tailgating the car ahead of him, predictably...

Oh, and a lovely Ferrari which was turning in to Windsor Farm Shop as I was leaving, yesterday mid-afternoon.
I think it was a convertible Testarossa. Although it could have been a 512TR. Did they make a convertible version of those?
I feel daft now, but I'm no 'history of Modena' expert. All I know is that I spotted a late 80s/early 90s Ferrari with those side-strakes. I was half-way over the road, and concentrating on safely getting out into a gap in traffic, so didn't have time to stop and stare. Nice chap, though - happy to wave me out and wait until I got out of his way, rather than pulling up alongside me in that central refuge.

If it was light blue, there was a factory Testarosa spider built for Giovanni Agnelli. It was a one-off and was recently featured in Classic and Sports Car. I think it was a convertible Testarossa. Although it could have been a 512TR. Did they make a convertible version of those?
Not sure about the 348 idea. Proportions seemed wrong, it 'looked' longer, and a bit meaner (as I remember it). It was also red. Traditional Ferrari red.
No matter really if I never find out exactly what it was. It was lovely, you don't see many out and about, and it cheered my up to see it getting used...

One of only one, built by Porsche GB to celebrate 50 years of the 911. Built using the best parts from all previous 911s.
What is?There are 991 of them (I think)

But the MP4 won't appreciate in value like the beemer I have no doubt they'll sell it to some chinless wonder with a pot full of tax rebates but it's nothing special to look at and there are much better cars available in that price bracket.

Mustang GT350R..... trumps it for half the price and you get a V8 and not a dull 6 pot with V10 sounds through the speakers..... serious joke of a car given the competition and pricing.
I am by no means an M4 fan, but have you seen how the GTS behaves on track? No Mustang would know which way it went.Edited by vz-r_dave on Wednesday 5th October 15:13
Also, with special limited editions, the price doesn't necessarily reflect a quantitative sum of the parts on paper. Afficiandos love them and they have a very niche but loyal tarket consumer. Plus, as a result, their future values will always be strong too.
You don't have to worry anyway as all the new ones are sold.
