Yes please. I wish I still had my childhood police pedal car with bell!

I had a police pedal car too! - It was dark blue with a big chrome grille at the front. I wonder if it was the same type.

Too right! I love a bit of nostalgia like this.

Mine - must have been 1970 - was a Mobo Fire-Chief car. I remember one of the neighbours arranged a fire for me to come along and put out cool

Started a couple of weeks ago so have a few pics so far, have a few bits missing so have started making up a few parts if it helps someone in the same situation?
Started by blasting and coating the axles/pedal mechanism etc, that's the easy part. Second I blasted the wheel inners and painted them silver, chrome was an option but wanted to do them all myself.

Damn - I even had the wrong car as a kid! My Tri-ang was a Chubby Car:

Judging by the number of my parents photos it's in, I must have spent a lot of my childhood time in it!!

Bodies ready for paint, going to paint one at a time as not quite sure what livery to paint them all.
The first will be in gulf colours as I'm not a purist but a big McQueen fan.

Was a massive company in its day.

I use to work near it where it was (I don't remember it being there), as the rest of the industrial estate it was on is still there. The company I worked for use to make the wheels for the hornby trains, plus loads of other turned parts for Tri-ang. While at the same time making bits for stuff like the Lancaster bomber, harrier jump jet etc (the company is still going too). The building on the right of the picture (on the other side of the football pitch) use to be kango drills, then it was sleepeesee beds, now its a big yellow storage company, because everything now a days is.

modern day view (whats left)

Such a shame, all those skills lost along with a lot of other industries. Not many people left to pass the skills on!

I used to be an auditor at the Droylesden factory on Lumb Lane. The play room (aka display room) was ace.

Just like the one I had in the early 70's!
Mine was red with chrome wires and a white steering wheel as well as some sharp metal edges too!

Good luck with your restoration

Senna is very high on the list, already have a Moss Lotus in BRG so maybe a black and gold JPS would look good in the line up.
