Hartge started tuning the V12 and dropped it into a few things, notably the E36 Compact and the Z3 Coupe, and also an E34, the H5 6.0, it had a 430bhp 6-litre engine with 450lb/ft of torque but I don't think any reached these shores - they did do a H5 4.7 though and there is one solitary rhd example, a green saloon. It had 340bhp, 365lb/ft 4.7 litre V8 with an automatic gearbox - it was featured in one magazine article a few year ago....

Jasper Carrott's LC - any info on it ? -why no pixs ? - esp at the time the tabloid papers would have picked up on the story.I remember him telling a taxi driver joke about it - but nothing more.
He came to a car park i worked in 1992 ,in G reg Granada Scorpio 2.0 auto.
He did have one - cant remember what number it was now but it was pre #800.... Having been broken into several times and (IIRC) been superchipped - It found its way to Frosts Performance Cars, where it was returned to normal tune, tidied up a bit and then sold. The LC was still in production when it was sold, so he didn't keep it long.He came to a car park i worked in 1992 ,in G reg Granada Scorpio 2.0 auto.

Hey Matt,
The M3 could not get close to 176 even on the back of an AA Relay truck!

Are you kidding ?The M3 could not get close to 176 even on the back of an AA Relay truck!
Phil
Have you not seen any you tube fottage of what an unlimited 321hp/6 speed will at least indicate ?
They will indicate 176 and more on the right road !
Lets not get too wrapped up with ultimate top speeds, later 996 Porsches would do 170+ on 300hp.
Step forward small frontal area.

Ok, what is significance of this LC ?
Looks like it has a Monorep sticker in the rear window - so i would say its car 0950G-The last production Car, although i don't think its on that registration anymore.

I remember back in 1996 when I was an apprentice at kwikfit(!) a chap came in with an LC to order some tyres.
He let us have a look round it. He then announced it was his ex company car and they had let him buy it from them for £5k
Lucky bugger!
Might have been 'his' company and 'they' and 'he' were the same thing. He let us have a look round it. He then announced it was his ex company car and they had let him buy it from them for £5k

You'd just got back from the Nurburgring in your M5 3.8 I remember. Hve you still got it? My 8000 mile Lotus has an easier life! The Merc 500 was supplied by a dealer (sounded like a jackhammer under acceleration) and the Turbo R was brought along by the journo from a local specialist. It was wretched weather for August (2011?). The write-up was nice (Classic Cars magazine), but the freelance journo was the worst driver I've ever been with: he drove my Lotus like a diesel (up-changes at 3000 rpm).Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
